Possible Miscarriage

Hi,
I am wondering if I am miscarrying. My period is a week late and I've just started bleeding. I was going to do a pregnancy test this weekend.
For the past couple of weeks I have had cramping and backache more than usual before I have a period. I'm still getting cramps now.
If I was pregnant then I would have been around 5 weeks now. Will the bleeding just pass like a normal period or do I need to go and see the doctor who will check me over?

I guess you will never know for sure now if you were pregnant. I would go and see the doctor because they may want to do blood tests and a scan just in case. If it is a miscarriage it should be like a heavy period. You need to make sure you rest to allow your body to heal xxx

Take a pregnancy test now and see what it says. If it's negative, then obviously that's going to be difficult to tell but I honestly think intuition is something to listen to - if you think that you were pregnant, then maybe you were. However, your gp will probably do nothing without a positive pregnancy test. As cocoa said, it will be like a heavy period and you'll feel very tired. If you bleed excessively, go to a&e. You may pass some fibres/clots which you wouldn't have if it was a period so look out for those. You can't miss them really. I'm sorry you feel this might be happening x
