Miscarriage questions

After a horrible week, a scan confirmed what we knew and I was diagnosed with a mmc at 9 weeks. I opted for medical management. Within a few hours I started bleeding and then the sac came out.

This was last week.

  1. is it normal to still be passing clots? I'm occasionally doing this and unsure if it is normal.

  2. I took a pregnancy test expecting it to have faded and got an extremely strong positive. Is this normal?

  3. if I had a partial molar, how would I know?

Thank you.

I am so sorry for your loss Flowers I can't answer all of your questions as I can only speak from my own experience.

It has now been 5 weeks since my miscarriage began and I am still getting positive pregnancy tests. I have been monitored by EPU and they say some peoples levels just take longer to drop.
I passed the sac and bled for a few days then the bleeding stopped and returned 2 weeks later with clots. I think the second bleed was the lining of my womb as I passed the sac intact.

I think everyone's experience is different from the advice I've received. Take care of yourself, it's both an emotionally and physically draining time x

I'm sorry for your loss OP Flowers
You may pass clots and bleed for quite some time. I bled heavily for around a week and then spotted for a further 2 weeks. Everyone is different but what you've described at this stage sounds normal.

It usually takes a few weeks before you get a negative pregnancy test. Did you have a scan after your MC? x

Thank you both and I'm sorry this has happened to you.

I didn't get a scan afterwards. i had heavy bleeding for a few hours before and then it stopped. I now have what I can only describe as slimy blood on and off with occasional clots.

Unfortunately the bleeding and clots can last a few weeks.
I had a scan after my miscarriage and although it was heartbreaking at the time, I feel that it was kinder in the long run, as I didn't have to take pregnancy tests for weeks afterwards. Can't think of anything worse. Sending love xx
