Limbo?

Hi,
I had a D&C last week to remove a MMC. Everything went well as far as I know however we were discharged and that's that? I got told in passing to wait for 1 period before TTC.
I feel like we've been left in limbo. I had an emergency section with my son (22 months ago) and now this m/c. How do I know all is well? I'm still bleeding 5 days after and I still have mild period aches. When does this become a problem? Do I have to wait 1 cycle (I've googled this is just for dating) and what happens if my cycle doesn't start!? Should I get a private scan to check all is well? I'm worried about damage from the section and the D&C?

Sorry to say I'm in the same situation, I had surgery for a missed miscarriage last Friday. I stopped bleeding on Wednesday we have immediately started TTC. From what I've read waiting for a period is more about making it easier to date if you get pregnant again, there's no reason to wait in terms of how you feel. I just waited until all the bleeding stopped, I didn't have any cramps after the surgery.
I'd wait until you're symptoms are gone, and you feel ready mentally to start again.
