Unsuccessful surgery

I'm just posting to see if this has happened to anyone else??

I found out almost 5 weeks ago that our baby's heartbeat stopped at 8+1. It was a missed miscarriage as I was supposed to be 11 weeks at the time. I booked in to have the surgical miscarriage method/ ERPC 4 days later as I felt like waiting would be too upsetting.

I had a cervical tear during the surgery that needed stitches but was told that they would dissolve within 4 weeks and I should do a pregnancy test in 3 weeks to make sure the surgery had worked fully.

3 Weeks later my pregnancy test came back positive so yesterday I had a scan which showed the baby is still completely in the same place 4 weeks later and the surgery did nothing, I'm in complete shock and disbelief!

I've gone back to work and just started to get back into a normal routine and now I have to go through the whole upset and grieving process again because the baby is still here.

Has anyone ever experienced this? The nurse said sometimes some tissue remains but has never known this happen.

I am booked in for another ERPC on Friday.

So sorry to hear about both your MC and failed erpc Flowers I have heard of this happening before, not as hugely uncommon as the nurse made out sadly. Insist on a scan before they finish to ensure everything is gone. Much love and good luck for Friday x

Oh my god, that's awful for you, how on earth can they even do that. I do hope you got it sorted. It send a serious complaint in there has to be some incompetence there. Sending hugs Flowers
