Finally got the results of my testing following our 5th loss in April. A letter received today saying there are genetic abnormalities and to come in to discuss them. I'm gutted.

Anyone know what the abnormalities are likely to be?

Flowers and Cake to you play. I hope they'll be able to give you some help when you go to the clinic.

I know this will be of little or no comfort to you right now but maybe my experience may help a little. My third MC was due to genetic abnormalities. We were told it was just a sporadic thing and shouldn't happen again but I was still absolutely gutted. However, with time I've been able to look on it that actually in that situation having a MC was the right thing for my body to do as there was no possibility of a baby coming out of that pregnancy.

I had a letter last week saying that my fourth was entirely normal. Queue much anger with my stupid body.

I hope you don't feel like I'm trying to minimise your loss. I guess what I'm trying to say is that with time you may feel differently.

Just seen your second post. The abnormality with mine was an entire extra set of chromosomes, so 69 instead of 46.

Oh play. What a shock. I'm so sorry. I'm afraid I don't have any advice or anything to offer, just didn't want to read and run. How long do you have to wait before you can go in?

Amanda, so sorry for your loss. How long is it since you started bleeding? If the bleeding has stopped and the pain is still bad, I think you should go back to see the doctor, as it may indicate infection/the miscarriage may not have completed. 💐

Amanda whilst I'm sorry for your loss I'm not entirely sure why you chose to post in this particular thread. Can I recommend starting your own?

Hello play
so I've just had a miscarriage and they said they would send samples to pathology- are these the results you're talking about and am I to expect a letter at some point? 3 months is a long time to wait.

I was a bit of a mess so wasn't thinking clearly when I was in the hospital.

So sorry for your loss Flowers
