Endless Miscarriage Bleeding

Hi All

I'm looking for some advice really. I miscarried at 10 weeks at the beginning of March (foetus only developed to 7 weeks when scanned). It has all progressed naturally.

However, I'm still spotting. It had been slowly decreasing but it hasn't totally gone away. They did spot some tissue left behind on the second scan but that was mid-March.

Has anyone else had a natural miscarriage that took this long? I'm starting to think I should go to the doctors.

I'm so sorry for your loss Nanny.

What did they say regarding the tissue at your second scan? Has any of it passed naturally since then? Were you scanned at an EPU before?

I can't comment on a natural mc but I had retained tissue following my first ERPC. I was bleeding (medium to light) and spotting for 4.5 weeks before I went for a second scan at the EPU which showed retained vascular tissue. I needed more surgery to remove it.

If I were you I would call where you were scanned for advice. Try and get scanned again to check the retained tissue situation. When I called the EPU about my prolonged bleeding/spotting (I bypassed my GP) they were adamant that I come in as soon as I could because of the risk of infection etc.

Thanks Sting. The midwife at EPU said that there was some retained tissue on the second scan but I've lost quite a few large pieces since then. That was a few weeks ago now. The bleeding is down to more like pink spotting. But I think I should probably still talk to them. I just wondered if anyone else had one that lasted this long. It's been about 7 weeks now.

I'm still spotting after 5 weeks and the doctor today told me it can sometimes take a couple of months. Have you had a pregnancy test this week?
