In limbo

Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong place to post in which case I'll get it moved.

I found out last week I was pregnant. Shocked but pleased. Not sure how far along but around 8 weeks.

Yesterday I started bleeding, not heavy, maybe a teaspoon across a whole day. This stopped overnight and has continued today, same amount. Not like a period, much lighter and not bright red.

In my head it's all over, the hospiral refused to scan me and said it's common and just to wait it out but I feel like I've been left in limbo now, I don't even know if I'm pregnant anymore.

Does this sound like a definite miscarriage? Sad

Should have said, no pain or clots or anything

Did you contact your GP? They might be able to organise some blood tests for you? It doesn't definitely sound like a miscarriage to me, could go either way. At 8 weeks it might be an implantation bleed but you aren't going to know conclusively unless you get a scan. Could you afford to go private?
Sorry you are going through this and all the worry, I hope it's not bad news.

Hi Purple
Congratulations on the pregnancy , it's unlikely to be a miscarriage spotting is extremely common in early pregnancy , I have what is called an ectroption , it's the cells that are normally inside my cervix are outside and are sensitive to easily bleed , it's triggered by something as small as the ️️Ph of ️discharge and ️️also sex , it doesn't harm baby at all , maybe ask Gp to do an internal check to find out ? It's extremely common especially if you were on the pill for a long time

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

My GP was very unhelpful, referred me to the hospital for a scan but when I got there they wouldn't do it as not an emergency And advised I get one at marie stopes despite me saying repeatedly I do not want a termination.

I was on the pill when I fell pregnant, maybe it's linked. Thanks x

I'm 14 weeks and I got it at 8 weeks onwards it seems to happen every two weeks , it's definitely a lot more common in women who got pregnant on the pill or women who were on the pill for a long time before getting pregnant , I bleed the same amount as you and it's a period consistency too, Id go back to hospital or gp x

From someone who suffered a late ( missed) I was 19 weeks but baby passed at 13 weeks , I just bled and didn't really stop it slowed down but then got darker I had no pain what so ever but the bleeding never stopped .
I have had bleeding in early pregnancy which turned out to be fine it was dark red then turned brown , and stopped as quick as it started.
Hth and everything is fine for you, I would ring the epu see what you can do

Don't panic just yet! I had a miscarriage at 5-6 weeks in July and I had pink blood then red, with cramps and then full on bleeding a couple of days after and passed the pregnancy naturally. I'm pregnant again (5-6 weeks) and had a little brown spotting last week so I also panicked and had a scan which showed an early pregnancy with no sign of miscarriage as of yet. The spotting stopped after 24 hours so I'm not too worried. If it's brown and there isn't much, and you don't have cramping then I wouldn't worry for now. Good luck!
