Heterotopic...anyone?

Hi just wondering if there is anyone out there who has had a heterotopic pregnancy?

I unexpectedly discovered I was pregnant after getting blue lighted to hospital with what I thought was wind!

Multiple scans, doctors and consultants and hours later I was diagnosed with a heterotopic pregnancy.

Neither foetuses were viable and one was removed with my left Fallopian tube and the other I miscarried 3 days later.

All literature and websites I've read don't seem to cover this and I was really hoping to hear about other peoples experiences?

Actually I though that was all I wanted to put...

*Has anyone been told why it happened?
*Likelihood of it happening again?

I had a great consultant but at the time of discharge when I asked all the questions I had I was in shock and very clinical about it.

Now I'm angry and sad and confused!

What really haunts me is that the foetus that was growing was stuck in my tube and the ' 'non viable misshapen one' (a horrid doctors term!) was in the right place. I know I had not choice but to go ahead with the surgery but my god the guilt flares up. Also on my return to the hospital when my miscarriage started (I was told to go back) I was made to queue in A&E in a packed waiting room. I was sobbing and cramping and eventually miscarried my second in the loos. And I apologise for the graphicness but I passed my baby in the toilet and only realised I had when I wiped and saw grey matter.

This haunts me at night. Having to option but to flush and walk back through a hoard of drunks to my partner. Having queue again to notify reception.

Has anyone else been through anything like this?

Not the whole experience necessarily but something like this?

I feel terribly alone

I am so sorry for your loss. I have no experience of this. But my heart goes out to you having to do this in the most vile of ways. I hope that you have plenty of support. My thoughts are with u.
