3rd consecutive miscarriage- what can doctors do to help

hi, i have had my 3rd miscarriage in a row on thursday.
previously, i had been told that as i have carried healthy children full term, there would be no investigation into why this had happened again.
however, the doctor i saw on wednesday said we need to find out why this has happened but no further elaboration.
what should i ask when i see my GP as i cant go through this again

Hmm you could ask about certain things which could help your prenancy keep stable such as i read that progesterone pessaries which you can take helps the baby stay in the womb and also helps support the pregnancy. This may help you. Depending on the situation for why it is happening. Just mention things which may help your body and the baby together. Sorry not been much help but i hope everything works out for you soon. Never give up

I am being investigated for recurrent miscarriage having had three consecutive losses, despite having a four year old. Push for a referral to a recurrent miscarriage clinic so they can check clotting factors. Gp can check your full blood count and thyroid ad well as hormone levels xx

Sorry to hear you've had to go through this. After my 3rd miscarriage (which followed the birth of DS1), I was referred to a miscarriage clinic who did tests for various factors (uselessly I can't remember what they were sorry). We had to stop TTC for this, and in total had a year off. I found it useful to try and get my head straight and focus on something else for a while. I also lost a bit of weight and tried to generally improve my health. Nothing significant was found so we tried again after a year, and I had a successful pregnancy (DS2!).
I suspect that breastfeeding while pregnant might have impacted on our situatiuon, thouugh I near many people do this without any issue.
