First miscarriage and no idea what to do!

Basically i fell pregnant as a result of a 1 night thing. Havent told a soul, lost my daughter at 40 weeks a few years ago. But never had anything like this before. Im 6 weeks pregnant and I started bleeding yesterday it was brown to begin with and then bright red with small clots and now pink and watery. I am too scared to tell my gp and i am still on a course of antibiotics from my dentist. I had xrays of my mouth today too as i dont feel pregnant anymore im just an emotional mess i feel NOTHING and my local hospital is 16 miles away and i cant go there. Just unsure what to do? Im alone with no one to talk to and 2 other kids to take care of. Im so alone!

Can you give your doctor a call and find out if you can be booked in for an early scan?

Physically just wear a pad, I found that wearing a pair of leggings under trousers made me feel more "secure" re leaks. For pain use paracetamol.
I would recommend calling your gp as he may want you to go for an early pregnancy scan.
Emotionally just go with the flow and be kind to yourself.

So to read this. If it is an MC, then you will bleed, the amount can vary - wear a pad and don't use a tampon to avoid infection. You may experience contractions which can be painful (they were for me anyway!) but will subside. Take neurofen, use hot water bottle etc. Try to take it easy.

I think you should speak to your GP though, arrange for a scan to see if the pregnancy is still viable or to check that if it was an MC, that nothing is retained that may be removed. Please don't be embarrassed, better to get it checked out.

Hey everyone, i managed to see my gp who confirmed my fears but refused to send me to hospital as in his words "its pointless if your all ready bleeding" things got worse and i started to contract really badly and got a soaring temp so thats why i ended up seeing him. He just gave me stronger antibiotic's and pain killers but i still havent passed a sac or anything and its been 5 days now x

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I'm not a doctor but my own experience of miscarriage was that the bleeding lasted for about a week before I passed anything other than blood. Maybe go back to your gp if the antibiotics don't kick in soon and you are still feeling unwell in addition to miss carrying. I was scanned after a week of bleeding to check the miss arrange was complete- which it wasn't so had to have the remaining tissue removed. Sorry if that's tmi- look after yourself - it's such a horrible thing to go through xxx

Hi, i passed a lot of clots and brown blood 3 days ago but nothing since, i am however experiencing morning sickness?? I have no idea how or why as i started bleeding on the 22.3.16 but my dr is off for a week now so i can't see him till hes back. Im just really confused cos there's no way i could be pregnant after the amount of blood i lost and the cramping was intense i just dont want to feel like im stuck in limbo anymore xx

5 days ago not 3, my heads just not with it xx

Sorry to hear you and suffering and the Doctor was a bit cold with you.

I had one 2 years ago, I didn't even know as my periods are irregular. The whole experience was awful and I can honestly say the nurse was as caring as a brick wall.

However, once I found a local support group I found it really helped.

Also I was not alone but as I was only 8 weeks, my partner didn't really understand why I was so upset. He just supported me by helping around the house, not emotionally though.

Also like the other posters said, wear pads and take pain killers.

I know you feel shit but just try and rest up when possible and take your mind off it.

You could call the miscarriage association too. They are very helpful and super understanding. x

You really should see your dr again. I had cramps and bled for three weeks in the first tri but the baby stayed put.
