hello this is my first time on this site, i had a mc 7 weeks ago today i believe it was a blighted ovum having seen the scan (although doctor did,nt call it this) it was my first pregnancy and i have not yet had a period, i have done several pregnancy tests all of which have been negative and am not sure what to do next, is it normal to not come on for this long? Should i go to me gp? any advice would be great, thanks, Garysgirl

P.S i think this site is fantastic i've sat here for the last 3 hours reading through your messages which i have found really helpful and it's good to know were not alone.

Hi garysgirl - sorry to hear about your mc. I had one last year at 11 weeks and again, this year at just over 4 (that was almost 4 weeks ago so i'm also waiting for AF too. I'm sorry but I can't honestly remember the timing last year but I did bleed for at least 2 weeks after from what I recall and I think my next AF was delayed, possibly by a couple of weeks. Sorry, not much help but I think you'll find it's probably normal. Can you phone your GP or perhaps the early pregnancy unit, if you have one?

Hello garysgirl, sorry to hear about your mc. I had a blighted ovum with my first pg, resulting in a complete mc at about 11 weeks. I bled for about 2 weeks and then didn't have a period for about 6 weeks I think. After that my cycles went back to being pretty regular though. Have you seen the miscarriage association website ? There are some useful factsheets on there. If you are worried I would ring your doctor for a chat just to set your mind at rest.

After my miscarriages, I got a period about 4 weeks later. In your shoes I'd probably have a word with my gp, it is probably nothing to worry about but for my own peace of mind I would ask a professional.

Sorry about your miscarriage.

I'm sorry to hear your sad new, did you have a d @ c after the mc?

gothicmama · 21/05/2004 07:21

garysgirl · 22/05/2004 10:38

hello
thanks for your responses, in answer to hmb i did have a d & c and only bled for about 2 days and it was very light, over the last few days i have been feeling quite sick and pretty much like i did when i was pregnant but i don't know if it's just me wanting to feel pregnant and i am a bit anxious about doing another test yet, if i have'nt come on by next friday and still test negative i will see my gp, it's a wierd time not knowing whats going on but find all your feedback really helpful - thanks.

I was told after my m/c that AF could take up to 3 months to return or could be early and there's no 'normal' time span. Dunno if that helps

I've just had a miscarraige in the last 2 weeks. Two of my friends who have recently miscarried have described similar symptoms of 'missed' periods and feeling pregnant.

garysgirl

to hear about your MC-my AF arrived 7.5 weeks later so don't worry as it will arrive then you can get on with your life. ((xx))
