Empty Uterus

I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago, as I was feeling pregnant, bloated and sore boobs. Had an early scan due to my history, and was told my uterus was empty!

I don't know the date of my last period but think it was mid November, surely they should have seen something on the scan it was an internal one.

Anyway I'm going back next week, but I'm concerned it may be ectopic.

Have you taken another pregnancy test? I'd do that and then go back to the hospital if it's positive. Ectopic pregnancies are dangerous and you don't want to be waiting around. Flowers

Hi Loki, yes they gave me one after they couldn't see anything in my uterus, it was positive. I just wish I could remember my LMP! I have another scan on Thursday.

Do you agree that surely they should have seen something?

If you are nearly 8 weeks then yes they should. If you ovulated later you might not have seen anything if you were less than 5 weeks. I'm aghast that they didn't scan your fallopian tubes!

I would also be concerned about ectopic. When I had mine I had positive pregnancy tests but nothing on internal scan. Are they not monitoring blood hcg (not sure that's right) levels?

I just wish I had asked more questions. They just sent me away for a week. Hoping I will find out what's going on next week. Nurse did say to watch for sharp pains and shoulder pain, that was pretty much it.

Not monitoring hcg levels yet. Think they think as I'm not sure of dates I may just be too early to see anything, however I have had a positive pregnancy test for 2 weeks!

Loki, I just read your thread, I'm sorry you have been through such a difficult time, you are so kind to answer my thread and be supportive when you must still be going through it yourself.

This forum has been a great support to. me and there are a few ladies on here who have reached out to me despite of going through hell themselves. I'm really grateful and if I can help, id like to pay it forward. I really hope you are just too early. If I were you I'd be phoning the epu tomorrow with pains in your side so that they scan your fallopian tubes. I did this at 7 weeks when pregnant with dd. I had a sharp pains in my side but it turned out to be trapped bowel gas! Blush Don't wait, make them see you. Good luck xx
