Bleeding after miscarriage

Hello - just wondering if anyone can help/advise/handhold...

I had medical management of a miscarriage on the 18th September at what would have been approx 8 weeks. Sorry this may be tmi but I bled for a couple of weeks then it stopped. Last Sunday DP and I dtd and that night I started bleeding heavily again and am still (though it has petered off massively)... I thought this may be a period but apparently it is too early (Dr Google) but I was wondering whether this had happened to anyone else or anyone had any advice...

Thank you x

Hi, sorry to hear of your loss, I have also had this after a miscarriage, it is unlikely that AF would arrive yet as you would be unlikely to have ov'd so soon but I think the stopping and starting of bleeding is just your body slowly working it's way to recovery. it could be that DTD disturbed things and encouraged your body to let go of anything still left behind. If it doesn't calm down or if it happens again it is definitely worth seeing your GP though.

Thank you for your advice! It's not getting any better so think off to the GP for me... I know I am probably being paranoid but just want to get it checked out I think - fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear it's not improving, definitely worth a trip to your GP, hope it goes well

Thank you - just to update went to gp - they were lovely but sent me to hospital and it is just a period... Also dropped in the information that I had been pregnant with twins which I hadnt know so that was just something to come to terms with...

I'm sorry about your loss too, and to learn more now is hard as well! I had two miscarriages, and both were quite different, though each was hard. For what it is worth, we now have a little boy who is perfect, if tyrannical. I like to think we got the child we were supposed to have. ..

Thank you - it feels like you make a little progress - not forgetting just starting to not have everything at the forefront of your mind and then this... Three steps forward and one back... The only positives to come from this are that we can get pregnant (which I know isnt something you can take for granted) - and it really has made us realise how much we want a family... Onwards and upwards!
