How do I know if I've miscarried?

I had a positive test 7 days ago. It said I was 1-2 weeks pregnant. A day later after intercourse I had quite a lot of bleeding which settled within about 12 hours.
Throughout the last week I've had spotting every day, mainly after a bowel movement. Sometime only when I wipe, sometimes a little more.
I haven't really had any pain. The pain I did feel I think was just wind pain.
I took another test on Monday which said i was 3-4 weeks pregnant (4 days after the first test.

Any thoughts?

Hi, the best thing would be to phone your local early pregnancy unit for a scan, they will scan you when you are about 6 - 7 weeks dated from your last period (not by the CB test). Also you could see your GP who could do blood tests. They will need to do 2 tests 48 hours apart to see how quickly the HCG levels are rising.

Thank you. Unfortunately I'm going away today until Wednesday so I can't do anything for another week.

Would the clear blue tests increase in weeks if I was still pregnant?

They might, but it's not reliable I don't think. The only sure way to know is a scan, and if it's too early to scan then the blood tests I mentioned will be a good indicator. But if you can't do those at this stage it's just wait and see. Without a significant bleed chances are you may still be pregnant.

Thanks for the replies. I've got a doctors appointment booked for when I'm back anyway so I'll have to wait and see.
