High folic acid dose to prevent miscarriage?

morning,

after having had two miscarriage within 5 1/2 months (discussed in an earlier thread) I went to see the doctor yesterday. I was hoping to be referred on because of my age (44) but she felt I was still young (!) and had another 5 years in me Shock (as I fall pregnant so quickly and have had a daughter who is 17 months she saw no sign of things slowing for me Hmm).

Anyhow. As my previous miscarriage was due to poor growth she put me on a high dose of folic acid (5mg). Has anyone else tried this? Any success stories? I need some straws to clutch Smile ...

You don't have time.
Insist on onward referral or go privately.
At your age it is likely that your egg quality is declining so I'm not sure what can be done, but if you want to discuss it with a specialist then you need to hurry.
