Need some advice!

I had medical management to bring on labour on Mon 13th July and yet I am still bleeding. Is this normal? It comes and goes. I have had no aftercare so I haven't got a clue what to do. Any advice would be great

Hmmm I'm not sure it's normal no. I know it can take a long time for miscarriage to happen after taking the pills but I think two weeks would be considered a concern (happy to be corrected).

I would be getting back in touch with your EPAU and talking to someone. They may administer a further dose to you or they may suggest surgical evacuation. Personally I have had three miscarriages but have never opted for medical management (2x early/natural 1MMC ERPC).

I'm sorry to hear this. I think it depends how far along you were really. At 22 weeks I bled for a couple of weeks after.

Your bleeding is usually linked to the size of the placenta, it is the wound where the placenta was healing and bleeding, hence bleeding for longer the further along you are.

If you were in the first trimester I'd been tempted to take a pregnancy test, if it's positive there is a chance you could have retained products. If your loss was second or third trimester I wouldn't bother with a test (I was told mine would be positive for up to 6 weeks after I delivered dd2)

If you are at all worried please go and see your gp.

I've just reread and to be clear, have you passed the pregnancy tissue yet? I assumed from your post that you hadn't, but if you have and you are asking if continued bleeding after the miscarriage has completed, is normal then yes it is. With all my miscarriages I bled for two weeks afterwards.

Just to add it took me 6 weeks until I saw a BFN on a test each time so I would expect you still to be testing positive at this time.

I had passed everything. I was 12 weeks 3 days when we were told there was no heartbeat. Once the baby had come out, I passed several massive clots. I had read that bleeding would stop after ten days but that isn't the case! I have had no follow up appointment. It feels like they have forgotten. xx

I'd give your epu a call, they may want to see you and give yoh a scan to check you don't have any 'retained products' (their words, certainly not mine). Sorry you are going through this op.
