Hi everyone
I had a positive pregnancy test Monday 6th after trying to conceive for 8 months however had a slight bleed Saturday and today its turned red with tiny clots and cramping. I've been to my docs and he said it could be a threatened miscarriage and as its 5 weeks its likely it will develop into a full miscarriage. I have no idea what to expect but really down as we were so excited. I'm taking time off work and worried about the reaction there as I hadn't informed them yet but also they aren't very supportive of any time off...how long is too long? The bleed and pain is increasing. I'm in bed and feel shattered. . Docs wouldnt scan me as too early so its a waiting game. Really sad. Anyone else in my boat that can help/relate xx

Hello mrsb. I'm sorry you are going through this. I don't have personal experience of a mc around 5 weeks, only later in the first trimester, but it doesn't matter how pregnant you when you start bleeding, it's always a horrible experience. You should stay off work as long as you need. There's no right or wrong amount of time. How are you feeling now? Has the bleeding eased? Not every bleed in pregnancy means you have had a mc but unless things ease it possibly is one. Esp if you are passing clots. Hot water bottles and pain killers can help. As well as chocolate. I'm certain the ladies on the headwreck & hope thread wouldn't mind you joining in. They're a lovely bunch. Didn't want to read and run x

I've been in this boat although hope it's not the same one. I had spotting at 5 weeks followed by 3 weeks of limbo hell, and what was eventually a MMC. This was in February. It is the saddest thing that I've been through. I'll try and pop back here but feel free to PM if you want to chat.

I worked from home a lot during those weeks of limbo and then had two weeks off proper, but everyone is different.

Lots of love x
