Mmc - has anyone had erpc under local not ga?

Hi found out at 8w scan this morning that embryo has no heartbeat. Sent home to consider options.

I'd like to know if an erpc under local is horrible or bearable. I'd prefer a ga but have no childcare for my dd . Thanks if u can help.

Hi, I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had 3 x mc with 2 of those requiring ERPC's

It's not something I would've wanted without GA but everyone is different. However have you not thought about medical management and doing it at home? That is an option if you are concerned about childcare. It's not ideal but it's an option.

Thanks brummie. .must admit I want a ga. Just got to sort out some childcare. Will be re scanned first just in case but it looks pretty sure as two scanners had a look.

So sorry for your loss. After my mmc I first had an erpc under ga, then 3 weeks later discovered that there was some tissue left behind that needed to be removed. I had that done under local-it was really painful, but bearable. I guess what I'm saying is that ga is preferable, but if you need to have it under local, then that's ok too. Be kind to yourself. x

Thank you. I have repeat scan tomorrow then booked in for ga erpc Monday . Dreading it all really. Feel like death warmed up as it is but it'll be over soon I suppose. X
