Trying to conceive while still bleeding

Hello lovely mumsnetters. I need some advice. The back story is I have had 3 miscarriages and I have a little boy 22 months old. Had my first mmc 2012, my son was born 2013 then had miscarriage at 5wks in Nov 2014 and then miscarriage at 10 weeks at end of Jan. Bleed for about 4 weeks after Jan miscarriage had about 3 weeks off then started bleeding again 8th of this month. Was heavy with small clots (sorry if tmi although think we're used to it on here). Am still bleeding now nearly 2 weeks later and was starting to wonder if instead of bleeding being my period it was another miscarriage. Spoke to Epau and they said I could do a pregnancy test or see if bleeding continues another week, and then see gp if it does. Anyway the point of post is that I asked if I would ovulate while still bleeding and she said it was possible and to continue using ovulation sticks but she doesn't recommend having sex while still bleeding. So did ovulation test and it says I'm ovulating and I don't want to wait til i stop bleeding before having sex as dont think I can bear to miss the opportunity of conceiving. I'm so desperate to be pregnant and have a healthy baby but obviously scared of having another miscarriage. So, what would you do? Thank you for taking the time to read my post please pass on any advice or past experiences.

In itself a strange ( heavy and clotty or scanty) period the cycle following a miscarriage would not be unexpected. Ovulation tests also pick up pregnancy hormone. Did you do a HPT as well? If it turns out to be a MC that's really shit but it would give you the three in a row you need to be referred for testing. I would think the chances of a pregnancy implanting successfully into a disintegrating lining even if you are ovulating must be virtually nil?
I can completely understand the need to be pregnant again ASAP but really recommend some breathing space to let your hormones sort themself out and get the testing done. A sympathetic GP might refer on the basis of 3-but-not-3-in-a-row anyway. Do come and join the RMC thread, there will be a new one starting in the next day or so, it helps to have some support at a shitty time Flowers

Hi bshorty I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. after my miscarriage I had a period very similar to yours. My next two were also very similar with not that long inbetween. After my second period my doc referred me to have a scan to check that nothing had remained and also swabs for infection. For my 4 th period it went from 3 weeks in length to 5 days!! Once I had the all clear from the docs that nothing was left we still had sex when bleeding as long as we both felt up to it.
