getting through due date when not pregnant

TTC #1 and on cycle 3 of trying, had a miscarriage at 8 weeks last August and my due date would have been 2nd April. I'm putting so much pressure on myself to conceive this cycle so that I can get through the due date by being pregnant. Not sure how to cope with the 'empty' feeling. It's still so raw after all this time. should be 8 months pregnant now Sad

Grateful for any advice on how to stay positive and get through 'D-Day'

Thanks

I'm sorry for your loss.

I had two miscarriages, and was not pregnant on the first due date. We used the day to mourn the loss, which felt right to me rather than trying to ignore it. For us that meant going to church to say a prayer and light a candle for the lost baby.

hello melonmelon

im so sorry for your loss. its heartbreaking :(

I too dreaded not being pregnant by my due date (I had a missed miscarriage discovered at 12 week scan).

Due date also happened to be Christmas Day, and at the time my eldest was 5 so you can imagine the pressure to be happy.

However, on the morning of Christmas day I finally let myself acknowledge what I was feeling, and did a pregnancy test....and I was pregnant!

Which scared me even more...so although I can relate to the need to be pregnant again by due date, it made the day harder, as I wanted to grieve for my loss, be happy for my son as it was Christmas, yet I was shitting myself about it all.

I guess my point is, its not always easier being pregnant again.

having babies is such a complex and emotional time x

Thanks both for your messages. It's nice not to feel so alone in this! its hard not to keep thinking of reasons why each month will surely be 'the one' I find. Eg. EDD..Christmas. .birthdays....Feel like I can't live my life in more than 1 month bursts!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had my first due date in January but I was on sick leave from my 3rd miscarriage.

My 2nd due date is next Wednesday and I'm dreading it. Especially as I face my pregnant colleague..

3rd due date is August and it's so hard. No words of wisdom other than I'm so sorry xx
