I should be 6 weeks pregnant today. I started bleeding on Saturday. I have been bleeding since, lots of small clots but much less blood than period. I could easily have managed with just panty liner but it mostly seems to be dealt with by wiping.

I eventually, after been passed through 5 different organisations got through to epc on Monday. When I said I was not six weeks they said retest on Friday and if still positive ring back. No other advice was give so thank goodness for mumsnet.

I have still been at work as physically I am ok but I am very tired and found it very challenging as there is no opportunity to stop and 5 mins to myself if go to the toilet when needed. I am 99.999999% sure that anything which is left can't be viable but a small amount is hoping it could be. I am still testing as positive - I know this is normal but I can't help but poas. The line does not appear as quickly or as bright. What happens next?

So sorry to hear about your experiences mostly.
Bleeding is very common in pg. I have had good and bad experiences. With ds2 I had an early, very heavy period that somehow he survived (and is now a healthy almost-2-year old) but with my 3rd pg, bleeding led to a mc, so unfortunately at this stage it's so difficult to say what could be happening. It's also entirely possible that you are experiencing implantation bleeding, which can sometimes produce clots.
If you are now 6 weeks, can you try to call again and get an appt for tomorrow? I'm no expert, but poas probably doesn't really tell you anything useful right now. A positive result could mean that your hormone levels haven't reduced after a mc or that you are still pg. Really, a scan is the best option if you can cajole them into giving you one. At least then you will know one way or another. I wish you all the best.

Hi,

I'm going through the exact same thing. I should be 6 weeks too but started bleeding on Sunday, and have been ever since. Some brown, some pink, some red with clots. I've got a scan booked at the EPU next week but until then there's nothing I can do but rest and wait.

As shieldbug said, I don't think POAS can tell you anything. I was still testing positive nearly 2 weeks after medical management for mc last summer as it takes a while for hcg to leave your body.

Like you, I feel certain there can be nothing viable but then I only have bad experiences of bleeding in pregnancy; lots of women on here seem to have had bleeding in early pregnancy that's been ok though so I guess it really is just a waiting game.

So sorry you're going through this, I know exactly how horrible it is. I think the not knowing is the worst bit xx

Thanks you shield. I am sorry you are going through this shield.

Can somebody bleed for 6 days with clots are still be pregnant? I had lots of symptoms before bleeding in fact I have not realised af was late and poas because I had such strong symptoms.

I have called in sick today because I am so tired but I think that might be both physical and emotional.

I just want to know and for the bleeding to stop. I am hosting a friends baby shower on Saturday.

mostly good luck with the scan on Monday. Thinking of you.
purpleHow are you doing?

Mostlyjustaluker · 09/03/2015 20:33

Thanks shields. Sac only measuring 5 weeks and no yolk. I think I should be 6 weeks. Blood tests show very low hormone levels. Will have another blood test on Wednesday and then will discuss options.

Oh mostly I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope Wednesday brings clarity and you know what is the best way to proceed. Keep talking if it helps, there's plenty of ladies here for you and some very helpful threads.

So sorry to hear this mostly Flowers

My scan confirmed early miscarriage, I've stopped bleeding now and getting bfn when poas so looks like it's over Sad

lcooper · 10/03/2015 12:44

hang in there...good luck! So know how you feel!

Mostlyjustaluker · 10/03/2015 17:09

Thanks again. I know the come and just want it over with now. I have started another thread asking about time off.

shieldbug · 10/03/2015 20:14

mostly on another thread, people are being signed off for 2 weeks. I have 2 ds so don't really get "time off" but think 2 weeks is definitely required physically and mentally. At just over a week since the heavy bleeding started, I am only just feeling physically ok again and I'm still getting more tired than usual.

shieldbug · 10/03/2015 20:15

purple sorry to hear your news. Hope you are getting lots of support in rl and are also taking time to recover. Look after yourself.

Mostlyjustaluker · 11/03/2015 10:19

Purple look after yourself.

Went for bloods again today and they said first result were 600 which dr google tells me could be 5 weeks pregnant. Can you have a sac of five week and then a yolk appear later?
