weight gain after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks about 6 weeks ago now. , While pregnant, I was maintaining my normal weight even though my appetite wasn't that great. I was trying to stay active but also felt rubbish most of the time so was not doing much exercise. Since my miscarriage I have basically been slowly putting weight on even though my diet hasn't changed and I've been exercising lots more.

The simple explanation that come to mind is this is down to hormone changes but I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced something similar.
Thanks in advance and sorry to anyone who is reading this and has suffered a loss Flowers

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I had a miscarriage last November at 12 weeks and found out the day before my dating scan. I felt like I was showing a slight bump even though most people say it's bloating in the earlier stages. Since my miscarriage I was expecting my stomach to change but it hasn't and sometimes I feel it has got bigger. It's a little difficult for me to know if this is normal as I have endometriosis which can cause bloating. As I was trying to get pregnant I have not been taking the pill which helps with the condition. When i saw you post it made me think again. I felt that I wanted to reply to you even though other things could of effected me however like you im not sure if it's my hormones.

Just take care of yourself and take each day as it comes

Thanks littlefig and I am sorry for your loss too. It's such a rubbish thing to happen.
I am trying not to stress about the weight gain thing too much but it is bothering me quite a lot. I just want my body back to normal again before I ttc. I am going to give it another cycle I think and hope things level out.

Hi, So sorry that you're going through this. I had a couple of miscarriages before eventually having a successful pregnancy. I'm no medical expert so I can only tell you how it was for me in case that helps. To be honest, I can't remember what my weight was like after MC - I just generally felt rubbish, grotty, hormonal and a mess. You deserve to feel better after what you've been through so, I say, go and see your GP - it might be something hormonal that will show up with a blood test, or maybe they'll recommend diuretics? Whatever it is, you deserve the GP's most sympathetic ear and whatever treatment they can offer to help you feel better. (After one of my miscarriages, I went to see my GP because I felt so under the weather. I knew that my iron levels were probably low and my GP agreed and prescribed some iron supplements. Sometimes you just need someone to listen and make sure for you that everything is as it should be... You deserve that). Good luck and best wishes to you. Mostly though, don't worry if you have a big of bloating - in my experience, it does go eventually on its own.
