Periods after miscarriage

Hi I was wondering what other peoples experiences were after having an ERPC. I had one after a missed miscarriage in a early September. I had a period exactly 4 weeks later and although it was heavier than normal and lasted 7 days it was weirdly painless. Three weeks later and I've got another one but it's a completely different story, really heavy and quite painful. Normally my periods are quite light so I'm really not sure what's going on. Is this normal?

i had a mc at 5w5d in september an have just had my first period 5 weeks after, dont really know what i consider normal anymore every month.it seems to differ pain, no pain, heavy, light etc.... think its just one of them things where theres no particular answer !

Hi sleeping, sorry for your loss. I had a mmc at 12 weeks followed by an ERPC. My periods came back 29 days after the ERPC so pretty much bang on my cycle. It wasn't overly heavy or painful and only about 3/4 days when they were usually quite heavy and 5 days long. I only had one period before falling pregnant again (lucky I know but have a complicated pregnancy due to a large hematoma in my uterus.) I feel that I most likely would have had more heavy periods after the first light one after the ERPC as I imagine the body would have had tissues and stuff to get rid of. Don't be too concerned, our bodies go through a hell of a lot and it's probably trying to get back to normal. xx

I had mm for a mmc 6 weeks ago tomorrow and I only stopped bleeding on Tuesday this week. I have had odd days with hardly any bleeding but the bleeding has been up and down throughout. I had what was like a period for about 5/6 days which is the last bleeding I have had so far, so not sure if this was a period. I thought I may have ovulated a couple of days before this so it confused me. I didn't have any pain or other signs though and was expecting my first period to be very heavy as I had thick lining at a scan a couple of weeks ago. It seems as soon as I work out what's happening with my body, it goes and messes with my head again. So sorry for your loss Sleeping xxx

It's so confusing to know what is normal after a ERPC isn't it, I remember this worry!
I had a MMC and ERPC back in march, my period came 4 weeks later and lasted over a week, there was alot of blood but it seemed watered down? If that makes sense? Nothing like my periods before which were around 4-5 days and heavy for 2 days, I had period pain too.
My following periods after that first one after erpc have been on track - around 28-30 days and have been heavy and clotty, but again- with no cramps! Was very wierd.
I would definitely say its a good sign to have heavy periods after erpc as very light periods and spotting could be a sign of scarring of the uterus.
I am now 7 weeks pregnant !! (something I thought would never happen)

I'm not sure what an ERPC is but I went for a scan 5th Sept to discover MMC had operation on 15th Sept, I started to naturally miscarry the day before but still bleed for just over a week after the op.

My first period started last Friday and ended yesterday, I had felt sick during and before it started, it hasn't been very heavy but I've been dizzy and feeling faint sometimes and waking up feeling sh*ty

I went to the drs for mine she said it could be weird for a number of reasons so Maybe the same for you as it seems we are quite similar times, although I have only had my first period perhaps this might help to understand why the first and second were so different

• hormones going back to normal can make your body do weird things
• the mental thought of what's happend comes back to you and can also do strange things (she said this may be why I'm sick)
• It can take ages to go back to the way if was and sometimes it can be different from before

I started my period when I was 11, my second one came 2 weeks after my first so was put on the pill, she advised me this could be what makes them regular or they could continue how they did before I used the pill

Basically. We all have different bodies and we all will react differently to what happens to them, if your worries go see your doctor
or if you wanna wait and see what happens next time do that but remember the doctor is there to help you so use them

Periods mess with your body enough as it is before going through something like this
it's all a big head f*k

My period has been quite light, some pain but not too much but mone are usually 3/4 days light heavy light gone so I don't really know whats happening, there has only been blood when I wipe ? Any of you have that at all with your first one ?

Thank you all and so sorry you have all been through this too - as if it isn't bad enough dealing with the emotional side of it. Naively I thought the operation would be a bit like a factory reset and I'd go back to a 28 day cycle with lightish periods!

Congrats to those of you who are pregnant again. We're going to wait a couple more months before trying again - dosing up on fertility vitamins in the meantime! Xx

I'm even more confused... I had mm for MMC on 13th Oct, bled v heavily then much lighter the first week then heavier again in week two.
I was scanned on 24th and had retained products so was booked for an ERPC on 27th. I had v little bleeding afterwards and it's now stopped.
I'm now wandering if my body is gearing up for ov as I seem to have some ewcm today.
I'm v impatient and want to start TTC asap, the control freak in me is exasperated by not knowing where I am!
