tanny That is great new, and having an understanding midwife is worth her weight in gold! I'm sorry to hear that you are still getting so anxious. Hearing heartbeats at 16ish weeks is such a double-edged sword, and I have heard rumours that in some places, they have stopped doing it, as people were getting so distressed.

I'm so glad that you and tiny are doing well, it gives me hope.

Having said that, I just had 2(!) rather large glasses of Wine, even though I am in the 2ww - I took DS to Switzerland to visit my mum over a long weekend, and while he was the perfect child on the way over and all the time while we were there, he was an utter demon child from hell little sh*t today on the journey back. I did what I vowed I would never do - I became that mother who manhandles her crying rather roughly in public, hissing at him under her breath Confused Really lost my cool with him - it doesn't take much these days, but he has been so good in the last few weeks. Urgh. Then a long drive back home, with lots of total nutters on the roads and a spillage of some sort on the roundabout before my village that nearly sent me into the ditch finished me off.
Sorry to be short, I will read back properly asap!

tannyLoo · 30/09/2014 06:47

Girly hope your first day back was bearable. I hated returning to work after MCs, it all seemed so meaningless and futile.

Bythesea glad you're here, iyswim. The break sounds perfect.

Cloud I can do the hissy thing too, and it always feels horrible after. A sign you were tired and are a great mum who loves her son to bits, otherwise it wouldn't have made you feel that way...

Longest, hope things are still going well in Oz, and that you can relax enough to enjoy your time there.

Just, will be thinking of you this evening. I hope you get a new plan.

Me? First day a work in over 6 months. I was fucking knackered and in bed way before 10. Shadowing someone for the rest of the week and then I'm off on my own, sorting out the troubled families of the South West (ha!) Getting a few movements now which really helps, and I'm 18 weeks today, so another week closer to viability. Get me and my positivity today...

Hoola Hoops on fingers. x

TinyTear · 30/09/2014 06:57

cloud I also do the hissy thing especially when she is running the other way...
And don't worry about the wine. In my 2ww this time I had sangria at a work party on Friday and a BFP the following Tuesday
Grin maybe that's what did the trick

girliesaints · 30/09/2014 07:52

Cloud- I am also a member of the hissy mummy club, it should be worn as a badge of honour and I'm very impressed you did a plane trip by yourself!

First day at work yesterday wasn't too bad and everyone was lovely, although probably more cause I was back and I could pick up my work! I was also in bed by 10am and slept the whole night, which is very rare these days.

TinyTear · 30/09/2014 08:09

10? I've been asleep at 9h30 lately!

cloudjumper · 30/09/2014 12:12

Thanks all ladies, it is really good to know that I am not the only publicly hissy mum out there! This whole I-will-never-raise-my -voice-with-my-child plan has spectacularly failed Confused These days I congratulate myself if I can go for a day without shouting!

tanny 18 weeks, wow! Go with the positivity!

triple I know it's hard to wait for the tests, but do try and enjoy the (enforced) break from ttc - it can do wonders to clear the head. Fingers crossed you will get some answers!

twilight New week, new start. Sometimes a good rant it really needed, and it can really help to vent, so rant away. We've all been there.

just Fingers crossed you'll get some clarity about how to go forward.

I'm also back on the healthy eating/weight loss regime as of today. A cold and then the trip to my mum's has well and truly pushed me off the wagon - we had raclette on Saturday, what chance did I have?! I do love cheese... But I am really determined to lose at least 5kg until the end of November, so onwards and upwards (or rather downwards, in terms of weight Grin). I will try to up my exercise regime again, I've not done any running for a few weeks now (this is the longest C25K ever, believe me...).

charlieis30 · 30/09/2014 13:10

Due date from MC1 today Sad

TinyTear · 30/09/2014 13:21

Stay strong... charlie and un-MN hugs...

Due dates are bloody tough. I made myself forget the days but remember the months... although MC1 is Christmas Day...

charlieis30 · 30/09/2014 13:27

I had forgotten the date then a month or so I looked it up then it was branded into my brain. I can't believe I've had a whole second pregnancy in the middle there. I actually forgot again when I got up this morning then was baby bombed on facebook and it all rushed back. Not a good day for me :(

bakingtins · 30/09/2014 13:34

Sorry today is a tough one charlie (((HUGS)))

cloudjumper · 30/09/2014 13:44

Charlie Due dates are tough, look after yourself. Can you speak to your DP/DH about it at all, or to someone else IRL?

tannyLoo · 30/09/2014 15:32

Sorry Charlie I hope tomorrow feels better x

barrelita · 30/09/2014 15:36

Hello, I am hoping someone on this link might be able to point me in the right direction for an expert in recurrent miscarriage?

My healthcare lets me see a consultant gynea privately to do the investigations and diagnostic work. I wondered if you would mind sharing who you saw for testing and who would you recommend? I see Lesley Reagan and Mr Shehata come up a lot on here but I am wondering if anyone has seen anyone other than those that they were happy with. Has anyone seen Heather Evans or Susan Tuck at the Royal Free?

We are in London and have been recommended by friends to go to the ARGC but I am not sure I want to start on IVF at this stage.

I am 36 and my hubby is 39. We have been TTC since summer 2013 (so not that long). We have no children.

Like many of you on here we seem to get pregnant fairly easily but I have not seen a heart beat on any of the pregnancies. I have had three miscarriages. The first was a miscarriage at 6+4 (Sept 2013), second at 7+3 (Dec 2013) and third at 7+5 (June 2013). The first two were natural miscarriages and the third was managed by MVA.

I am waiting to hear results from the "products" of the MVA I had in June. I saw a nurse for the first follow up at the McNair Unit at Guy's last week but the appointment with the Consultant is not until 20 November - 5 months after the last miscarriage.

I have been looking at this thread since my first MC and was so pleased to see that bakingtins has had a baby - congratulations.

I never realised that making babies was so difficult! Good luck to everyone on here.

TinyTear · 30/09/2014 15:43

Hi
I am actually seeing Miss Tuck on Monday, but only because she has been assigned as my consultant in pregnancy. No experience of her as a RMC specialist... The Royal Free is my local hospital

I saw Mr Rai in Lesely Regan's clinic and Prof. Brosens in Coventry but as all of my tests came back normal, it's actually the Coventry protocol that is workinhg with me...

Since you are in London I would tell you to give St Mary's a try, but Coventry has had good results too... I had my DD after my St Mary's appointment, but had no treatment. Now I am under Coventry and am 11w pregnant...

Good luck

Justonemoretime · 30/09/2014 17:59

Hi, Just got off the phone with Prof Brosens. He wants me to ask my GP to send me for at hysterosalpingogram and other fertility tests as he wants them to check that there are no blockages in my tubes or scar tissue. has anyone had one of these procedures before? What's it like? How much time off work do you need etc.?

Barrelita, welcome. Sorry for your losses. Hope you find the info and support you are looking for.

Charlie, hugs. xx

charlieis30 · 30/09/2014 18:10

thanks for the support all. had a bit of a wobble earlier but feeling a bit better now xx

bakingtins · 30/09/2014 19:20

Hi barrelita and thanks for your good wishes Smile

I think it depends how your insurance works. Mary Regan did literally write the book on recurrent miscarriage but St Mary's are not currently investigating or treating the immune side of things. Most of us have had the standard tests on the NHS with nothing found before considering immune issues. On this thread there is more experience of the Coventry team, there is another thread on the conception board (TTC or pregnant on pred) where there are more patients of Dr Shehata or Gorgy. The London clinics are £££ both for investigation and treatments. Assuming it's a limited pot of money I think since you qualify for NHS referral I'd go for that at the moment (or pay privately just for an appointment to get the ball rolling but have the tests on the NHS) and in tandem look into the NK side of things. I'm surprised nothing has happened about getting the basic tests done on you since June. Most of it is just simple blood tests, your GP could organise them. Maybe chase up the consultant and see if they'll order the tests now - you could be discussing all your results in November, not starting off the process. If there's nothing on the standard tests and no cause from the testing of MC3 then I'd pursue the immune route. Obviously I think the sun shines out of Prof Q's arse but then I'm biased Grin

Mary Regan is a dog trainer... Lesley Regan is the authority on miscarriage. Doh!

Justonemoretime · 30/09/2014 22:04

Sorry tiny, the conversation went off in such a different direction, stopping meds was way off topic. Hope you're ok? When's your next scan?

Bobsmum1 · 30/09/2014 23:40

longest sorry I missed your post on sat, i tuned out for a while. Really interesting we have the same results! I also have low progesterone and high fsh, and occasionally estrogen is low. I will let you know if Prof Regan has anything interesting to say... Waiting for this appt hasbeen the longest 4 weeks of my life.
Good luck with the preg! Everything crossed for you xx

Triplespin · 01/10/2014 08:12

Just - I have had something similar to HSG which is a 3d hycosy. Also checks for tube blockages and a view of the uterus to check for scars. I had it done privately and I fell pg the same cycle! Apparently lots of ppl do as even if u have a tiny block it clears it up.

Thanks for the opinion on the party food choice of Pom bears versus hula hoops!!

You are all right - the not TTC isn't too bad and i am enjoying not using ovpks and obsessing over ewcm!!

Longest hope you are enjoying your holiday.

Tiny and tanny - so wonderful to hear that all is going well. Being knackered is always a good sign too!!

Baking - how is faith doing? Yes I remember reading about the long wait for karyotyping results. Based on that we will not be TTC before next year. I also think that we won't have any genetic issue as we already have one child.

Bythesea- when is your appointment?

TinyTear · 01/10/2014 08:16

Don't worry just
My scan is friday but only at 4h30pm ahhrgh

I think I will ease off then over the weekend and monday have a consultant appointment so will double check then

twilightstruggle · 01/10/2014 11:43

Hey folks. On my phone so this check in might be a bit haphazard!

I'm still totally fed up. I think the proestrogen tablets have given me acne as I'm covered and that's not usual. I saw one of my pregnant friends last night and she was positively glowing which is just the icing on the cake really. Grrr. She's lovely though so was forgiven reasonably quickly. I've stopped them now anyway so hopefully it'll clear up when AF arrives. 6 days till appointment - time is dragging akin to 2ww! Can't bloody wait to get this f&&£&g coil out! Arghhhhhhhh. And breath....Grin

Hi barralita and sorry you find yourself here. Hope you get all the advice you're looking for and all the sympathy you need.

Longest - glad oz is going well and you've had no more cramping.

Just - sounds positive that they're looking into it. I hope it's a nice and smooth procedure and gives some answers and/or reassurance.

Have to go suddenly. Will finish later

longestlurkerever · 01/10/2014 12:54

bythesea. That sounds very similar to me. Would be interested to hear what they say though keeping my fingers crossed at the moment. Boobs still sore and bigger than usual which is a better sign than last time. Counting the days! Thanks for the best wishes everyone.Have moved on to armidale inland. Just been out for dinner for my birthday.

Hugs all!

TinyTear · 01/10/2014 13:06

happy birthday lurker
