Pretty much what the title says. I went for my 12 week scan to find there was only a scan. Either the baby didn't form or was too small to see so I guess 4/5weeks. I've chosen to do the tablet option and wanting some advice on what to expect. I know the doctor talked it through with me but some personal experiences would be nice to hear? Also how long is it until physical changes went back to normal? My boobs have grown quiet a lot and my stomach is defiantly firmer. I don't want people to think this sounds like I just want to get back to normal I'm just asking these to help me get a timeframe of things in my head. Thank you

Hi Charlie, I'm so sorry for what you're going through right now. I haven't experienced medical management myself, but there are some stories on this thread that might be helpful, when I was trying to decide whether to for medical/surgical/natural options: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/2141397-MMC-surgical-medical-expectant-management-wwyd

Hopefully some more people with personal experience will share their story with you too. It is normal to still feel pregnant and have pg symptoms for a while during and after mmc as you still have pg hormones in your body.

Hi OP. So sorry for your loss. I had the same thing a few years ago.

Essentially medical management for me meant that I took the first pill the day they confirmed that my baby was gone. I then went home for whatever the required time was, returning (two?) days later (sorry, i have trouble recalling everything, i was in a bit of a daze).

On the return, they gave me some more medication, and then I essentially fully miscarried over the next six hours (with the aid of painkillers and DH holding my hand). I then convalesced at home for four days (quite heavy bleeding like a bad period for two), and was back at work on the Monday after. Really I should have taken another week, but I didn't want to tell anyone.

It than took me three weeks for PG tests to stop showing a BFP, and I got my first period about two or three weeks after that. It was about 5 weeks until my boobs stopped hurting.

Take care of yourself.
