Welcome everyone - pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of information, moral support, tea or sympathy. Newbies very welcome.

Can we start the thread with a recap of where we are all up to again, please?

Happy birthday tiny!

Have just been reminded about zinc for DH- thanks! (shouts 'take your zinc' across house)

Am not alco free. I was, but I use it for medicinal purposes so, that's fine Wink I'm necking the folic + vit D combo but 3 instead of 2. But hat's it. I got a book about getting your bodsy ready, but it just made me feel awful so it's on the shelf, for now. Just trying to have less stress in the house for the 'action' is our main concern (hence a glass or 2 of wine!).

Xx

Catlover2014 · 15/08/2014 22:46

I think a glass or two of vino doesn't harm betty I just can't trust myself to stop once I start. X

bootles · 15/08/2014 22:56

Gosh what a busy thread! Will never be able to keep up with everything (couple of days off mn).

But in brief:
Hello to those who have recently posted for the first time, or not for a while. Sorry that you find yourselves here, and sorry for the difficult times.

longest your plan sounds good. Have you had a chromosomal cause for any of your mc that you know of? Am personally still undecided about Coventry. All my mc have been so different, not sure which way to go. Sorry you didn't get quite what you expected/hoped at St.Mary's appointment, even if you do have the green light to try again. Its tough when you just don't know WHY.

Tiny you are only a couple of months ahead of me for the 41 years birthday. I really wouldn't give a crap if it weren't for the mc issues. Hope you have a good one.

enlightened sorry you didn't get a result..that's beyond frustrating. What do you think your next move is? Not that you should feel any pressure to decide anything now.

cat that's a lot of time being very careful with your diet and lifestyle. Go forth onto your next cycle and put all that good health into action!

cloud sorry to hear AF appeared. Its so shite, TTC. Hope you have the wine this weekend and your throat is better soon.

triple hope all goes well and you recover quickly. Such a long wait for your erpc, must have been tough.

I tend to agree with cloud and not take anything too 'extreme'. I tend to drink wine for the first 2 weeks of my cycle, and not in the two week wait. But not much really. This time when TTC again think I will cut it out altogether. However currently in post mc bleurgh so feel justified in having a little wine (or a bit more than a little, but have to be careful as it can result in emotional wobbles) and chocolate, though am usually pretty healthy and fit.

enlightenedbunny · 15/08/2014 23:16

longest/cloud/bootles Not really sure what to do next. No idea what complaining will achieve other than another apologetic letter and still no result. I hate not knowing - having 'a plan' helps me deal with it all.

Did go to work in the end. Was the best thing I did all week. Wasn't prarticularly productive but got dragged out by colleagues (partner joined) and actually had fun after weeks of feeling miserable. No one other than the boss knows at work but it didn't matter - everyone was lovely. And now drunk after a very very long time.

Shall go to bed in my tizzy state and perhaps, perhaps snuggle with partner for the first time in a long time with no ttc pressure...

For tonight I am ok. Grin Lots of love girlies xxxxx

longestlurkerever · 15/08/2014 23:29

Glad you had a good day enlightened. Triple I hope all went well. Bootles no, I have no test results for any of them. Night all. Hope you have good weekends planned. My priority is getting well. Am feeling worse if anything.

bakingtins · 16/08/2014 08:24

hi everyone! Just checking in to say I am off on holiday for 10 days - you'll probably have finished the thread in that time! Grin

tiny have a fab birthday! Glad you asked about the Coventry funding - that makes sense, it seemed relatively cheap because just an appointment with a gynae consultant here was £200. Made me a bit cross about the money I spent to be told nothing was wrong ( even though my GP did lots of the blood tests for me it was still about £750) someone who went to Dr S paid £2500 at their initial appointment Shock It makes me a bit uncomfortable if people are profiting from our misfortune.

For what it's worth I took 5mg folic acid (handfuls of cheap 400 microgram tablets) in my successful pregnancy, no idea if it helped.

Catlover2014 · 16/08/2014 23:00

We'll miss your wisdom Baking. Have a lovely holiday xxxx

cloudjumper · 17/08/2014 08:16

Have a great holiday, baking!

Triplespin · 17/08/2014 11:18

Have a lovely holiday baking!

Thanks everyone for the wishes. Erpc went great on Friday - very smooth and now 6ww for results. I can then decide what to do next. Glad to have a break from TTC for the moment.

I have very light bleeding now - is this normal after erpc? Previous two mcs were natural and this is so different! Initially i had reservations about erpc but it seems better than natural !!

Hope everyone else is well.

charlieis30 · 17/08/2014 13:54

Hi triple, I had an ERPC on Monday (my 1st, other MC was natural). I've had a little very light blood each day, nothing significant from Monday night until yesterday, when I went on a very long walk and was out & about a lot so I'm not surprised I bled a bit more. Not enough to worry me though.
I agree with you - I was very nervous in the runup to the ERPC but i think it was a really good decision for me. Physically I've been 1000% better since the op (helps that the morning sickness has gone now).

Triplespin · 17/08/2014 14:47

Yes same here Charlie - also my stomach has gone in a bit too !!

What are the next steps for you? Are you have the genetic testing done?

Which rmc are u going to be referred to?

I need to call up GP for rmc referral, which is likely going to be King's college for me - though the EPU did say its unlikely that they will offer anything I haven't been tested for already (I had already had privately got testing done at St Mary's and with Dr. Shehata after mc 2).

I will still book with them just to get into the system and if I get pg again - at least I can get more scans on NHS.

charlieis30 · 17/08/2014 15:34

This was only my 2nd MC, so I don't get referred this time. DH and I elected to pay for analysis (although I don't have any details at all other than the name of the genetics company, I don't know how/when we pay or where the results will go - weird). The surgeon at UCH didn't have any idea. I might pop into my GP and see if they can chase it for me, failing that I'll call the genetics company myself I suppose!

UCH has been great, the EPU doc told me I can go there for an early scan next pregnancy. DH and I have decided to wait until AF then just start trying again. DH wants to do a couple of months without temping or tracking, just DTD every day or so, we'll see how that goes :)

Triplespin · 17/08/2014 16:08

Good decision to pay to get it tested. UCH sound amazing!

Yes let's hope we get our AFs quickly enough - I have had 5 weeks and 10 weeks for last two mcs. So it really varies.

Makes sense to take it easy rather than full on temping tracking - I find I get more obsessed and put too much pressure on poor dh then!

charlieis30 · 17/08/2014 17:16

Yes, my dh knows and hates when its that time Wink
Mine were at 7 and 9 weeks, hoping the best for the next one!

charlieis30 · 17/08/2014 17:30

whoops i meant those were my mcs. i only took 28 days for af to turn up again last time, but since it was natural i dont know what it will be like this time.
sorry for the horrible grammar, typing this on my phone!

longestlurkerever · 17/08/2014 18:01

Glad it went well triple. Here's hoping we all get pregnant with the stickiest of sticky beans too.

Managed to have a nice weekend despite still being ill. Took dd to her first ever cinema trip (To see Frozen Blush) which was an excuse for a rare long cuddle, and she had a nature trail book for her birthday and we had fun spotting bugs and leaves and so on. Just got back from a birthday party for one of our nct group. Was quite emotional seeing them all together. Tend to catch up 1:1 these days or on nights out without kids but seems no time since they were babes.

Triplespin · 17/08/2014 18:31

Longest - what a lovely day out!! It's so nice spending time with the DCs and especially after our recurrent mcs, we appreciate the ones we have even more!! I hope your dd doesn't get frozen obsessed !! I have heard of households where they play the frozen music all day long lol. Well the music isn't bad actually :)

I have missed out somewhat on my ds's initial years as I have always worked full-time (well needed to and it has helped now with all the private mc testing we have had to dole out for). But after these three mcs I feel like maybe I should cut back on work and enjoy more time with DS. They grow so fast.

So now with all clear from Mr Rai - are u starting on TTC bandwagon?

Charlie - wow 28days is pretty clockwork!! Mine were all over the place even after natural mc, but then I have suspect pcos and have always had irregular cycles.

longestlurkerever · 17/08/2014 18:57

Yes, she knows the music already and loves it. Let it go is a bit of a power ballad - not sure why it has such appeal for three year olds but am hoping it means she will move on to post Rick by the time she is 5.

I am sure you haven't missed out. You still get to marvel at your ds's achievements and bask in his love while working but if you're not happy with the balance you have them by all means look into changing it. I quite like working part time. Work is a break from childcare and childcare is a break from work.

Re ttc: well I think so. Was panicking for a few days but feel a bit calmer now. Might book a Coventry appointment that I will go to if I am not pregnant by the time it rolls around but not hold off ttc.

longestlurkerever · 17/08/2014 18:57

Postrock not post Rick.

Catlover2014 · 17/08/2014 20:22

Glad you're feeling ok triple! Either way is hard but I agree with you that ERPC is the lesser of two evils. Just make sure you give yourself sometime to rest up now. X

TinyTear · 17/08/2014 20:41

Hi all. Yes, after erpc has only light bleeding and AF came back 4 to 5 weeks afterwards.

I prefer it to any other option. Really didn't like medical management as my husband had to keep our daughter away and pain was like contractions.

TinyTear · 17/08/2014 20:41

And so far we haven't watched frozen, but apparently she knows let it go from school. Ahrgh!

Triplespin · 18/08/2014 09:40

Longest for the Coventry appointment you need to have it post ovulation and you definitely cannot be pregnant ie so you would need to skip TTC for that month if you wish to go.

I may go at some point just for the scratch benefits. Let's see.

Yes frozen is very popular - we took DS - before we knew it was a girly film and he couldn't wait to leave the cinema.

Tiny - two more days for your appointment right?? Good luck!

cloudjumper · 18/08/2014 13:25

Hello all, I hope you had nice weekends! triple and charli I hope you are both recovering well! I had very little bleeding after my ERPC, and AF turned up again 5 weeks after, so hopefully, your recovery will be really straightforward and uncomplicated.

I had an uneventful weekend - spent a lot of time and money at IKEA on Saturday, but with the result of a very happy DS who now has a proper bedroom, rather than just a room with a bed in it Blush
Nice and quiet day yesterday, watching Finding Nemo with DS in the morning, then we went out for a long walk all together, flying the kite, visiting the local windmill, following by baking biscuits with DS's 'help'.
My sore throat has now morphed into the usual runny nose and blocked airways, grrr. Feeling very tired and drained.

But we have the long weekend to look forward to! I am taking next week Tuesday off as well - my mum is visiting, so hopefully we can make good use of the time.
