Do I need to go to the scan?

I found out on Friday that I have miscarried at 5.5 weeks. Before I knew it was a miscarriage my midwife had arranged a scan for me tomorrow afternoon.

The doctor at the hospital advised if I was still bleeding on Monday morning to go to the scan but surely if I'm bleeding my body is doing what it needs to do? Is it necessary to still go? Don't know if I can face it Sad

Persepolis
I'm so sorry you have had to go through this.

I had an ERPC after MMC, so my situation isn't the same, but my understanding is that they scan you to make sure nothing has been left behind. If it is, then your body will be confused, and you could bleed for longer.

I'm sure someone with better experience than me will come along, but I'll hold your hand until then Thanks

Please do go, the scan is essential to ensure everything has gone (sorry Thanks) and to avoid later, more serious problems and possible infections.

RiverRocks is right go along it's just to check all is progressing naturally.
I'm currently having a MMC so I know how you feel Thanks sorry for your loss.

Don't look at the screen it's easier that way and be prepared they might want to do an internal scan
Good luck x

So sorry pers.

My miscarriage started nearly two weeks ago and I am due a scan tomorrow. It's the same day that our original dating scan was meant to be so it is going to be very tough emotionally. I am going, to make sure everything is clear. I am still bleeding very slightly and am paranoid that there may be more to come so it will give me peace of mind.

Good luck.
