Had hsg test while pregnant

I hope someone there will help me. I had me HSG test on the 22 April 2014 on my 6th day of my period. I didn't have pregnancy test done prior to x ray as I never thought I would be pregnant as a had a late period but normal, and I have been trying for nearly 3 years now. Today 07 May 2014 ( 2 weeks after HSG test) I did a digital pregnancy test and came up positive 3+ weeks pregnant. I'm so worried that I may lose my pregnancy now. Has anyone experience something like this before or know anyone? Do I risk for miscarriage or any other defects? Please help.

Contact whoever referred you for the HSG (gynae? GP?) and I'm sure they'll arrange an early pregnancy unit scan. I'm surprised you didn't have to POAS on the day of the HSG - I did! - but different protocols I guess. Good luck!

I suppose one other possibility is you fell pregnant immediately after the HSG and are actually 2 weeks with high hormone levels...

I'm going to see doctor tomorrow, as I was supposed to do another test for infertility. In few months I was going for IVF treatment. I'm so happy that I manage to get pregnant myself but now that HSG test I did is killing me. I will be devastated if I lose my pregnancy. I have gone though a lot this last three years. Fingers cross everything will be ok. I'm super worried.

Hi just wanted to say good luck with your appointment. It's very common for women to conceive straight after HSG as it can clear the tubes so the likelihood is you've got pregnant afterwards! Try to relax, I'm sure it will be fine :) x

Any update on this? I found out I am pregnant one week after HSG
