Pregnant using birth control?

Hi, please can someone give me some advice? I wasn't planning a pregnancy, in fact the opposite.
Me and my partner split up after 4 years in November, we had a night together just after Christmas. I am on the pill, never miss it, but I have done 5 pregnancy tests and all positive.
I have been ill with v&d for several months-I feel stupid thinking about it-but can I be pregnant, and what should I do?
Last Sunday I had a really heavy bleed, and severe cramps, but two tests I have done were on Sunday and today-and both positive!
What shall I do-I don't know how far gone I as haven't taken a break from the pill for 3 or 4 months.
I know everyone has dilemmas, any help would be appreciated as I feel alone

If you have had several positive tests and they are still positive post-bleed then it seems likely you are still pregnant. It's possible to bleed quite heavily in early pregnancy and for everything to be ok. You need to contact your GP practice and they will arrange a dating scan to see how far along you are, then you can make your decisions what to do next. If you are unclear whether you have miscarried then they will probably send you to your local EPU (early pregnancy unit) next week for a scan.
