Massage after a miscarriage

I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks, it was a horrendous experience which resulted in 4 days in a hospital. A week later, I am feeling better physically, but still very fragile emotionally. Since my miscarriage I've been having a really bad pain in my neck and shoulders, probably because of the strain that I've been through. My husband suggested that I should treat myself to a massage to relief the tension in my neck and shoulders, but I'm not sure if that's ok? I've been getting really bad headaches, which my doctor said are due to neck and back tension, but I completely forgot to ask her if having a massage was safe?

Sorry for your loss! I went through similar back in July.
I don't know about massaged but I do know that headaches after miscarriage are common and caused by the crash in hormones. I had a mega migraine the second week after mine.

Hi Tina

I'm so sorry for you....devastating news. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks the week before Christmas. I accidentally told my neighbour yesterday afternoon....she caught me off guard (being lovely and bringing some home-made curry around as a treat for me and my husband!). Anyway her kindness got me all upset and it came out! She is a professional masseuse and she said as soon as I am ready to see her for a massage. She said it would be a great thing to do but only once I feel well and ready for it. I actually feel physically "back to normal" which is heartbreaking as it's all over this time round and I feel so sad but I am going to take her up on the offer. Think of it as nurturing and healing.
Good luck xx
