Lovely video on the subject of empathy v. sympathy which I think we can all relate to. The "at least" part in particular really got to me! One to share with anyone you think is struggling to know how to react to you post MC.

Empathy v. Sympathy

Thank you for sharing Parsley, I found this really interesting as although my friends have tried to empathise, nothing traumatic has ever happened in their lives so I feel like they can't relate and am often left wondering 'well what can they say anyway'...I think this hits the nail on the head - they don't need to say anything to try and make you feel better; '2014 will be your year', 'at least you got pregnant'..they just need to listen and acknowledge your loss.

Maisey, that's exactly it. My lovely best friend needs to see this I think, she has the sort of reverse problem. She isn't trite about my MC and has successfully steered clear of the empty 'at least' platitudes but every time I text or speak to her about how I'm feeling (she asks me a lot!), she feels she has to explain it for me (I swear she must be googling everything I say as she's never MC'ed herself), when really I just want her to acknowledge it and let me talk.
I know I won't always feel so blue, I know it's normal to feel tired, achey etc after an MC, I know my hormones are all over the place, I'm not telling you because I need an answer, I'm telling you because it's too hard to keep bottled up.
