ERPC three months after miscarriage..

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I had a miscarriage in early August. Tried expectant management and nothing happened, so opted for medical management in September, which was pretty awful for me. Got a period mid October, then an extremely heavy bleed for an hour for which I went to A&E beginning of November. Finally managed to persuade the hospital to give me a scan 3 days later, and was told to go for the ERPC. Had that done on Monday, but wondered if anything would be different in terms of when to expect next period, compared to someone who had the ERPC soon after miscarrying. I bled for a day and a half after the ERPC (watery bleed as explained by the doctor) but today, (day 4 after ERPC) I've been getting period pain since this morning and much redder blood since this afternoon. Wonder if periods can come early as I definitely don't have any hgc left in me (tested in A&E), or if it is just post op bleeding..I know I could call the hospital but they have been pretty useless for me since the very beginning so don't really feel like talking to them..so just wondered if anyone else had an an ERPC quite a long time after miscarrying, and what their experience was.

Thanks xx

Sorry Rashelia I'm not sure I can help, but wanted to say how sorry I am that it has all dragged on for such a long time for you, sounds horrid.
From what others have posted on here, it's not unusual for bleeding to be stop-start after an ERPC. It would seem very early for it to be your period, but I guess your hormones are going to be different to someone who has the ERPC when their HCG is still high.

Thanks for your reply, Bakingtins. It has been a long process..I was hoping not I have to have the ERPC, but after the very heavy bleeding at work and trip to A&E, I couldn't bear the thought of that happening again or for it to go on even longer. I thought after having what I thought was my period in October, it thought I had finally put it behind me. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case :(
Hopefully I'm on my way back to normality now..

Not sure what you situations is, but hope you're ok.

hi rashelia I had a erpc 6 weeks after medical management. You have my sympathy, it's completely rubbish and dragging it out makes a horrible situation even worse. I had my op on a Mon morning and bleeding had stopped by Friday morning. I find erpc much easier than medical management (mentally and physically).
I hope you feel better soon. Something to bear in mind is iron levels. I had massive bleed with medical management followed by 6 weeks on and off bleeding then another large blood loss with op. Ended up anaemic and very tired which didn't help my mood. A course of iron tablets sorted it out.
Take care.

Thanks for your message. I'm glad I'm not the only one, although sorry to hear that you've had a similar experience! Yes, the dragging on of it makes it even worse. I feel like I've been up and down since the miscarriage. For a few weeks I was totally devastated, and then I started to feel a little better, but have been feeling down again for the couple of weeks.
I've also found (so far) the ERPC much easier than medical management. I've never experienced pain like that!! In retrospect, I wish I had opted for the ERPC from the beginning :(
Thanks for the heads up on iron levels. I'll make sure to eat enough iron or get tablets if needed.
Not sure when yours was, but hope you're alright. Good luck and take care :)

Had missed miscarriage at 9 weeks.
Medical management removed sack, but not lining.
Advised ERPC, said no and asked for m m again.
Mm failed, so had erpc.
Process took 4 weeks, nearly as long as I was pregnant for!

Katiejon, sorry to hear of your experience. How long ago was it? Take care.
