I went through this procedure this morning and despite being extremely anxious and worried it was fine. I took tablets (misoprostol) at 6am and went into hospital at 7.30. I didn't experience anything other than mild cramps and just started to bleed lightly prior to going down to Theatre. The nurse walked me down to theatre and that was frightening, but staff were all very nice. Got a ventflon in arm and air mask- anaesthetist told me I might feel a funny taste in back of mouth and I replied that I felt very hot... I must have then conked out. Next thing I was in recovery and was only aware of having a nice dream. I was there for 30 mins and had obs checked regularly, then returned to ward. Had tea and toast and then was able to go home by 12.00 after I had passed urine. Very minimal pain after, I just felt a little groggy. A horrible time emotionally, but physically the surgery was fine and I hope this helps reassure anyone worrying about it- honestly I'm a wuss and even I found it totally ok.
