Chemical pregnancy and AF returning?

I had a very early mc at 5wk +4.

All feeling fine now, it's been 4wks + 1 day since the mc started. It was all very quick and I only bled for about 3 days.

We started ttc again almost immediately - I know not a good idea in terms of working out ovulation dates etc but I figured I'd make the most of the increased fertility around this time.

On Monday night, I was sure AF was about to arrive as I was so grumpy and snappy and weepy - I only get this the day before it arrives - but nope, no sign of it, not even a hint of it.

I know it's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question, but for these early mc's, do things tend to get back to normal more quickly? I'd really like it to just arrive so I can start working out ovulation dates!

I think as a general rule the earlier the MC, the quicker you get back to normal because HCG is not as high to start with. I think also often quicker after a spontaneous MC than a MMC because your body recognises that the pregnancy has ended.
Not tempted to POAS??

Oh kitkat sorry for your loss Sad and I am in the same boat!!!! Bleeding very little after mc and a few naggy pains but AF due yesterday. Im too scared to test!!!!!

Are you going to??

kitkat321 · 01/11/2013 13:28

I'm going to wait a week I think - although I feel as sick as a dog today - although in the process of painting so it might just be the fumes.

Last time AF was 1 week overdue before I got a positive and don't want to waste any more money on tests.

Lucyfluff - fingers crossed for you! Xx

Thanks kitkat! I caved and poas (ic and not fmu) and BFN!!! kicking myself now for doing it....will wait till after weekend to do another Smile

Good luck when you test, let me know how you get on....and try not to inhale to many fumes Wink x

I got pregnant four weeks to the day my bleeding started after early miscarriage x

Still no sign of AF - poas today and not sure how to interpret the result. Very, very faint line in the test window but not sure if I'm just looking at it so hard I'm seeing things! Checked the other unused test and there is no line.

A bit confused now - going to wait a few days and see if its any clearer!

lucyfluff · 05/11/2013 07:39

ooooo yours does sound promising kitkat!!! maybe its just too early testing and in a few days it will be stronger...your have to let me know Smile

No AF here either. Poas yest and bfn. Got GP apt thurs to discuss but no doubt it will be a wait and see!!!

kitkat321 · 05/11/2013 10:29

POAS first thing this morning and another very faint line - hmmm.

Feel sick today but I'm loaded with the cold so it's probably that.

Going to wait until the weekend and test again if no sign of AF.

I hate waiting!

I had a chemical pregnancy in June then got pregnant the next month. I've heard it's easier to conceive after this happens to you. Good luck - sounds promising! Smile

kitkat321 · 06/11/2013 09:35

Thanks you foodaholic - I'm hoping so - that was my intention :)

Took two tests tonight.

Digital test - BFN

Cheapo Asda test - faint line - but not as faint as yesterdays (have loaded it to my profile).

Just need to hope it's not residuals hcg levels from mc.

Testing again at the weekend before I do anything else - I'm nervous now though and almost too scared to move in case I have another mc!

Kitkat I bet if you tested with fmu it would be clear lines. I used asda tests in my last pg a week after af due and only a very faint line...now hes 18 mnths old Grin

lucyfluff · 07/11/2013 14:04

GP rang and said AF can take up to 8 weeks to return Sad just to wait it out and poas weekly to check!!! shes not worried in the slightest. I wish something would happen here lol!!! Smile

kitkat321 · 07/11/2013 16:41

Hmm I'm still doubting the bfp - I just can't believe that it's happened so quickly.

Testing first thing tomorrow and prob tonight as well - if still unsure I'll phone dr as I think hormone levels can be a bit funny for about 6 -8 wks post mc
