i have just been to the doctors as its just over a week since i m/c and still in rather a lot of pain and heavy bleeding. ive been told i have an infection and given 2 lots of antibiotics has anyone else had this happen as i dont know what to expect..is this serious?! i have read that this can lead to a histerectomy. my baby was dead for 4 weeks without me knowing this has got me thinking has the infection spiralled and antibiotics wont touch it?

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I had an infection after labour with ds that also required 2 antibiotics. Everything cleared up fine and am now pg with baby #2. Try not to panic, although I know it is difficult after what you have been through. Do they have you scheduled for another checkup back?

I had an infection a week after MC in early April. The antibiotics cleard it up fine and we are now nearly ready to ttc again. My baby had been dead 4 weeks too. I have since had two normalish AFs (quite long and heavy, perhaps tmi) with another due end of next week.

Hope that helps, try not to worry.

i am not due for any check ups at all, the doctory simply said it should clear up in the next couple of days but if i still have pain by sunday evening i should go to a & e "as itsnot something you canafford to wait around on"
thanks for your comments congratulations jabberwocky i hope it goes wel for you.
skytvadict i hope it doesnt take long for you ttc my fingers r crossed.
im not very impressed with the treatment i have had throughout this whole m/c its a terrible time and the nhs have just seemed to make it worse all the doctors/nurses i talk to tell me different things so i think il just go with what my body is telling me

It might make you feel better to go back after you finish the antibiotics and make sure everything is cleared up.
