Hi,

Wondering if anyone could help me.

I'm currently 13wks 3days pregnant with second child had scan 2 weeks ago and all fine for now.

Walked into church today for a funeral and felt massive gush so legged it to toilets and blood everywhere gushing out on the floor. Managed to calm self down and bleeding stopped so padded myself out with tissue and continued into funeral. No pain apart from slight cramp. No clots that I could see. Just bright red blood.
After funeral went loo again tissues soaked in blood and lost more in toilet. Feel ok just a bit shocked. What is this? Should i go to hospital? Thanks

Definitely go to hospital now to get this checked out. Hope everything works out ok. Thanks

I would go to a&e even if its just to put your mind at rest. I hope it's nothing and everything's okay!

I don't have a lot of knowledge on this but couldn't read and run.

It happened to me and to my best friend at a similar sort of gestation. Our children are now 6 and they could offer no explanation to either of us why it happened :)

I went to A&E because I was so alarmed at the sheer quantity of blood and the consultant had never used a doppler before and couldn't find a heartbeat which was awful so I don't recommend doing that!

Is there an EPU you can go to for a scan?

Ok thanks for replies husband is on his way to get me now with my notes. Will ring maternity ward now and see what they say.

Hi

Been to epu, apparently it's either a threatened miscarriage or a low lying placenta. Seen baby and heart beat so was reassuring. Lady told me if I gush more blood or loose any clots then to ring up and go in.

Bleeding had sort of stopped then about 30 mins ago 4 small clots came out look just like kidney beans sorry if tmi...not sure what to do now? Does this sound like I'm going to loose baby?

Don't worry about being frank with me I'm prepared for the worst just a bit confused. Thanks

I hope you went back after them small clots!! Thinking of u

Nicole2781 · 13/09/2013 08:31

No I didn't as they were really small and really don't think it's anything significant I'm just going to wait and see how it is the next few days

I just had a look to see what happened to me after that first bleed and then compared it to my miscarriage. Totally different. Miscarriage started quite small but got much bigger very quickly and very painful.

Weird random unexplained bleed had a bit of a tail and then that was that. Hang on in there. The hospital told me to rest and take things easy so hopefully you can do that too x

Nicole, clots that look like kidney beans could actually be polyps, especially if they were quite firm in texture. I passed one once, but not whilst pregnant. It had a small stalk in the middle. It caused spotting for 5 days before it came out. Never had one before or since. It was very weird!
