Crying I just needed to tell someone

I just need to tell someone. 3 years ago I was given a choice to terminate my pregnancy or be paralysed from the waist down. Leaving me unable to care for my 2 girls. The choice ripped my life apart and the break down that followed just made things worse. Now 3 years on I feel like I am the only person that remembers.

That's an awful thing to go through, I'm so sorry.
I do feel that the mothers are the only ones to remember a loss, no one else seems to mention it, but you can talk about it here, might help.

Nonio · 22/07/2013 23:30

Thank you this is the first time I have told anyone outside my medical people.

I am so sorry you had such a heart breaking decision to make.

Lots of people who will have good advice and support for you may miss this thread in this section, if you "report" your post and ask MN HQ to move it to a more appropriate section (relationships, or loss perhaps) you will hopefully find some more help.

People may remember, but may assume you don't want to talk about it or feel awkward about bringing up the subject. D you have a close trustworthy friend or relative you can talk to?

Hugs to you-that is a horrific decision to have to make but obv huge in your life & you should talk about it. You'll think of it every day so you need to get ok with the decision & still grieve your loss. Have you had counselling?

I agree that mothers are the only ones who remember a loss-as u have children, you are more aware of what might have been. Be kind to yourself x

Thank you. Have had lots of counselling as it cause me to have a catatonic breakdown. Most of the time it ok it just around now that I don't cope that well.

I hope you got through the day ok nonio It's both a curse and a blessing of motherhood that you can never forget the children you bore, even if it was for a short time. Flowers

How horrible for you. I found after a miscarriage many years ago, people thought I should be "over it" much quicker than I actually was. Being with my DC really helped. Hugs to you xx
