Have I miscarried? I just need to write this down somewhere

It started on Friday with pink when I went to the loo, I had a scan on Saturday morning which showed just a sac at 6weeks (17mm I think). Told to come back in a week unless bleeding got worse. The bleeding went on until Sunday/Monday and turned a brown then red.

Tuesday the bleeding for a bit heavier and bright red with a few small clots (light period). I was scanned again on Wednesday and they could still only see the sac (19.9mm), no heartbeat or embryo yet.

Then yesterday bled really heavily for a few hours and passed a few largish clots (heavy period). I'm still bleeding now (thurs) red, although not quite as heavy and have cramps in my back and tummy.

EPU wont scan me until next Friday again now. I just want to know if that heavy bleeding, clots and cramping yesterday was a miscarriage or is there still hope? The waiting is so hard!

If I do a pregnancy test when will it show up negative? I just need to know if this is a mc, after reading so many positive stories of bleeding in pregnancy I think I really have false hope.

Based on my own experiences it does sound like you have mc'd, so sorry. Especially if your dates made you further along than the 6w sac they could see.They normally advise testing two weeks after an mc as the hormones can hang around for a while so I wouldn't test yet. Hope the next few days/weeks aren't too hard on you.

Dont bother with pregnancy tests as they can show positive for several weeks after the miscarriage is complete. (in my experience, i stupidly tested about 3 weeks after and still got a faint positive even though i had stopped bleeding some time earlier.)

Thank you for your support. Next Friday seems such a long wait to find out for sure. I still have a glimmer of hope, silly really.

So sorry pizza, MC is truly shocking.

Friday does indeed seem a long way away. I didn't get a negative HPT for about 3-4 after my MC at 8 weeks. Other symptoms such as bloating and sore boobs went sooner.

Thanks Katatonic. I would like to know sooner but when I went to EPU on Wednesday they made me feel like I'd come in too soon because it hasn't been a week between scans. They were very clear I was only to go back before my appointment on Friday if I was 'soaking pads and passing clots like golf balls.' It hasn't been that bad, just like a heavy period with small clots. So I'm reluctant to go back if they either can't give me a definite answer until Friday or think i'm time wasting. I really can't believe I can have this much bleeding and there still be a baby. Although there is a niggle at back of my head that there may be a tiny chance.

Me and DP have had our tears and have resigned ourselves that it's happened/happening. We just need Friday to confirm it and try to move on. This last week has been a complete roller coaster.

I have a GP appointment on Tuesday to ask to be signed off work so I will speak to the GP and see if he thinks I need to be seen sooner than Friday.
