Autoimmune issues consultant

Hi
Does anyone know of any consultants in the southeast who deal with autoimmune issues please?
I have had three mcs and have ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disease, which was active during these pregnancies. My consultant in my local rmc clinic thinks it's not relevant. But I think it is, so would like to get referred to someone else.

Mr Sahota is private (but he does some NHS work if you can get referred) and based in London/Surrey. The other recommended person is Prof Quenby but she is based in the midlands.

Gets out soapbox when I was doing interweb research I discovered there are some dodgy clinics out there (making exaggerated claims, their science just didn't add up) especially in this field... as the NHS doesn't offer much for it, so they prey on desperation. For that reason if/when it gets to testing for NK cells for me, I'll only be looking to the 'big names' who I know have a strong reputation.

Fab squiz thanks.

And thanks for the words to the wise. Yes I am very wary myself of people out to fleece me. Although if I have another mc who knows, I might lose the head completely so it is always always good to have someone to speak wise words. x

Get the book, "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" by Elaine Gottschall, she saved her 11 year old child with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.

I really recommend that you read Prof Lesley Regan's book 'Miscarriage - What Every Woman Needs to Know' and then go to see her at The Miscarriage Clinic, Paddington. She is one of the UK's leading experts and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have my two children.

Hi Donttry. I researched this a bit as was confused about who I would see. There's also a Dr Ndukwe who now works at the Zita West clinic. Gets good reviews online and I had already heard of Zita West so felt reassured by the connection. Thankfully I didnt need to make the appointment in the end so can't personally recommend. Wishing you lots of luck.

I have seen mr Shehata in London but I believe he works in the NHS too. As others have said Prof Quenby, dr nedukwe and Zita West all have excellent reputations. I would suggest really doing your homework before choosing one of them as they each have different interests and specialities. I saw mr Shehata privately after 5MC. I was interested in auto immune profiling and disorders.
There are great supportive and informative threads on here trying to conceive on prednisolone or similar. Have a search in conception. Knowledge is power.
The very best of luck to you donttrythisathome
