Miscarriage in Ireland

I believe I might be in the beginning stage of a miscarriage. Im 8+2 today and have had brown spotting for over a week and today it has gotten a bit heavier and there has been some red blood as well.

I'm currently on vacation in Ireland (Galway today and moving on to Sligo tomorrow) and don't know the first thing about the medical system here. Back home (in Germany) I would wait and see and if the bleeding gets heavier and then try to get in to see my dr. If not I would go to the hospital but I don't even know where to start and what the protocol here would be.

Is anyone familiar and could give me some advice?
Thank you.

Perhaps give NHS direct a call. Sorry I can't be more of a help x

I don't have personal experience of the system there but would have thought A&E at the nearest hospital can examine you and give the appropriate advice/care.

There is an out of hours GP service but I would think the nearest A&E are your best bet.

Your best bet is to cross into the north and present to the south western hospital in enniskillen. You will be treated for free under eu rules. It is a nice new hospital. They will do early scan and then decide if intervention needed. It is a lot cheaper and easier for you to access treatment up north. If you can make it to belfast you can pm me. I would be reluctant about sligo general and galway university hospitals.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do that if it starts getting worse.

We're on our way to Dublin today. Bleeding has gotten worse, I think we'll try a hospital in Dublin. I know there's nothing they can do but I would appreciate them giving me a scan so we can confirm it. We fly back to Germany on Monday so worst case, I have to wit it out until then but I'd prefer to know sooner. Do you know if they will get one in for a scan right away if they present with bleeding?

Just wanted to say thank you to those who offered assistance. I ended up going into hospital in Dublin and having a scan which showed the heart had stopped beating. I'm back home now and waiting to miscarry naturally (if possible). I had a D&C with my last miscarriage and want to avoid it if possible.

I've been ok for the most part but today has been a difficult day. It is so unfair.
