My husband recently took me to cuba for 2 weeks to chill out which helped and i was due to ovulate while tehre, i use the clearblue ovulation sticks, but it doesnt seem that i ovulated last month, should u ovulate every month?
now im panicking that maybe my d+c went wrong? and now i wont ovulate, i know this may sound silly but should u ovulate every month.
i am due to ovulate this week and i have been testing for 2 days, no sign yet?
also how long did it take any of u to concieve after miscarraige and d+c?
any advice would be great

Hi Nadine,

Sorry to hear of your m/c. I am in the same position as you - had missed m/c at end of Feb, have had 2 periods too. I became obsessed with the ov sticks and started thinking that either they didn't work or I wasn't ov'ing. Because you're all mixed up after your mc I think it takes some time for your body to get back to its natural rhythm again. I kept getting -ve tests all the time until one day I suddenly got a very clear +ve.

Just keep trying, work out your cycle and when you expect to ovulate. I think that if your d&c had gone wrong you would be aware that something was up. Even if you get -ve tests all week, bd anyway! Have a look at \link{http://www.fertilityuk.org/nfps30.html\this site}
as I find it really useful to be aware of all that your body goes through when you're coming up to ovulation.

above all, do try not to fret too much, stressing out won't help. I am still ttc and I know exactly how hard it is when your af arrives when you're desperate for it not to. Come and join us on the TTC after a miscarriage board - you'll get a ton of support from a whole lot of ladies who are going through what you are.

good luck...x

Nadine,
Do come to the ttc after miscarriage thread. You are certainly not alone. I too had m/c in January, have been using ov sticks, had a month off ttc, went away this month for relaxing holiday and have not managed yet. I really don't understand it.

You can have some cycles in which you don't ovulate, but it might not be the case with you - are you sure you followed the ovulation predictor instructions to the letter? They are certainly not foolproof even if you did do it exactly right.

I think most of us would find it difficult at times to have a sil in the same situation as yours - it's difficult to admit to as it doesn't seem very 'big' of us but I reckon it's inevitable.

Hi, for ttc after mc thread look under all topics - conception and its fairly near the top!

Had mc in April and not got to your stage yet. Only had one normal AF. Fingers cross for you.

SKYTVADICT · 25/05/2006 13:54

Whoops - I actually meant BY TOPIC, not all topics. Sorry

Hello nadinetd
So sorry you are going through this.:(
On the ov test kit I've got it says that many women miss a month here and there and it also said that test may be inaccurate after m/c until you've had 2 normal periods.
I had a m/c 3 yrs ago followed by a d&c. It happened in February and after waiting 12 weeks as advised by obstetrician I started trying again. I was pregnant by July and had a healthy ds. I had another m/c in Jan this year + d&c and after 1st period became pregnant again. I used ov test kit boh times. I always get pains in my side and sore skin (!!??) and teeth (!!??) when I am approaching ov and this went on for much longer than usual b4 I got a +ve result. Im just going through whole process again as I had another m/c end of April. skin and teeth have been sore for a week now and pains in side for 10 days! need to buy another test kit as have run out of sticks!
I think maybe you should keep on testing as it certainly seems to take longer than normal for me.
Good luck! :) x

hi nadine,
i had a missed m/c in october last year and had an erpc, we've been trying to get pregnant since with no luck. everyone tells me i'm concentrating on it to much but its hard not to & i keep thinking that maybe it had something to do with the erpc, anyway its nice to know i'm not alone and that other people have these fears too. Good luck!

Hi! We discovered a missed miscarriage at 12 wk scan. It is now 6 weeks since my ERPC and I've still not had a period. On Saturday - in hope(!) - I did a pg test which gave a +ve result. I also did an ovulation test in last few days which was also +ve. Does anyone have any ideas as to what's happening??! Is my body just still adjusting and really confused?

EmmaPP · 28/05/2008 14:58

i had missed miscarriage at 11 weeks, found out last monday, it came out naturally last tueday. I rang up the ovulation stick helpline (!!) and they told me i have to wait until i have a negative pregnancy test before starting the sticks, as otherwise the sticks just wont work. ie if you still have HCG (preganancy hormones) in your system, the sticks cant read the hormone rush you get when you ovulate. from other threads i've read some women still get pregnancy test SIX weeks after mc! so that could be why the sticks arent working for you. my pregnancy tests are still positive, so am waiting till they are negative before doing the sticks again. Im not sure if im going to wait for a period first..in two minds. GP says i dont need to wait for period, Hospital said i do - to ensure all the womb stuff is out (nice!). i have tried to get an answer to this question on dr type websites too, really mixed info. I guess i should wait one month to be safe, couldnt bear to go thro mc again...

Ses15 · 28/05/2008 18:41

Thanks for your reply Emma. Hope you're doing ok - if you only found out last week you must still be in shock. I know what you mean about not wanting to go through mc again - doesn't bear thinking about. I saw my GP this morning about something else and she said it was unlikely that I'd still have HCG from the mc and to do another test in a week and if still positive to go back and we'd take it from there. She also suggested phoning the Early Pregnancy Unit as my local hospital - which I did - and they said the same as my GP! I guess I'll just need to try and be patient for the next week and see what happens.

EmmaPP · 30/05/2008 13:44

Good luck Ses15. it's now getting on for 2 weeks since we found out i'd had a missed miscarriage, it does get easier. am starting to feel more logical/philosophical about it just not being meant to be...i spoke to Scottish Care (even tho i dont live in scotland) miscarriage assocation yesterday which was really helpful. made me make up my mind to wait a month before TTC again...just to be safe, as otherwise i'll be wrapped with worry.
