Miscarriage & tampons

Hello all
I'm just after a quick bit of advice, I started having a miscarriage last weekend at 7wk5days and am still bleeding heavily with small clots.
I'm going on holiday to Tunisia tomorrow & although I know the recommendation is not to swim or use tampons until the bleeding has stopped, I'm wondering if anyone has done this for an hour or so at a time with no ill effects?
The thought of not being able to swim (or have sex) on holiday is miserable.
Thanks

As you say the advice is to continue to use pads and not swim until you've stopped bleeding as your cervix may still be a little open meaning you are still vulnerable to infection.
I guess you have to weigh up the risks. Would you be comfortable getting medical help on holiday if you picked up an infection?
I do recollect someone saying they swam on holiday whilst miscarrying, I don't remember them saying they had any problems afterwards.
I probably wouldn't risk it though.
Sorry about your miscarriage. I hope you have a relaxing holiday.

I had a similar issue and decided not to swim but as my aunt said to me there is more to sex than penetration which made for lots of fun and intimacy

I wouldn't risk it but obviously up to you. You can still dip your feet and legs in the pool?

Sorry for your loss.

I wouldn't, the infection risk is too high. I was told no tampons, sex or swimming for 6 weeks. I've had 4 infections since my miscarriage (back in Oct) and they're not fun.

Sorry for your loss. x Hope the holiday helps a little.
