Ummmmm a bit concerned about writing on here and what reaction I'm going to get but I am hoping I will get the support I need right now. I have recently suffered a miscarriage at around 5-6 weeks. I am devastated and really concerned this may have had something to do with an abortion I had almost 2 years ago. There were no complications with it but it just goes through my head all the time. I had an abortion for many many reasons and I do now regreat it so I would prefer non-judgemental comments if thats possible please.
Has anyone been through the same thing at all?

Hi toadmum I'm sorry you've lost your baby. I think it's a very natural reaction to look for something in your past to blame, but it's very unlikely that there was any cause other than random bad luck and something wrong with the baby that meant it couldn't develop past a certain point.
I had gynae surgery after the birth of my son and was very worried that that had caused the 2 MC I've had since, but scans have shown that not to be the case, and the doctor said it was very unlikely. Don't blame yourself.

I'm so sorry OP Sad Agree with bakingtins. Don't blame yourself. i know it might not be reassuring but i was told when i had a mc that as many as 30 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage in the first trimester. I can't confirm this number exactly because a lot of the times it may be passed of as a heavy period etc...Losing a baby at any stage in pregnancy is devastating. It can be down to so many different things, or just completely 'unexplained'.
I lost a baby 5 years ago at the end of my first trimester. It was one of the toughest times in my life. Am now sitting here with my gorgeous (almost) 2 year old DD swaying to the beat of CBBC... so try not to worry. wish i could say more to help you. Hi toadmum, im so sorry for your loss.

It's been 5weeks since my mmc and its natural to think of reasons to blame yourself. I'm thinking of reasons too but I agree with the others.

My friend had an abortion many years ago and experienced two mmc after that. She now has two gorgeous children, a girl aged 5 and boy aged 3. There is hope for all of us and I do believe that there is a reason why these things happen. I really don't think your misscarraige had anything to do with the abortion.

It's very normal to want a reason for your miscarriage, and sometimes we focus on something that has happened in the past be it recent or a while ago, these things however don't have a bearing on our losses. The reason is mostly unknown.

hello ladies was just wondering if any one had suffered a silent misscarage at 17 weeks? it happened to me a week ago, i feel so sad & empty. im waiting for the post mortem results & wondered how long it takes.
