Early miscarriage

l am/was only six weeks but I know I've lost the baby (cramps, brown mucousy discharge, one or two clots). Just wondering if there's any point going to the EPAU for an internal scan when I know the pregnancy has ended? Feel very sad but also kind of numb. Is this because I'm so early on? Or will it hit me st a later date? Sorry to go on here as I know others have worse problems than me :-(

So sorry to hear what is happening to you.
yes i would still go as you may not have passed everything & they will want to keep an eye on this & scan you.,...they will also want to test your hcg levels. But maybe I would wait untill tomorrow unless you are losing alot of blood.
It may still not be a miscarriage..many women go through this & its not actually a miscarriage...so its important you go hunny.

Please don't apologise, losing the prospect of a much longed for child hurts at any stage. I would go and get checked out, though I know it feels pointless - does your gp surgery have an out of hours number you could call? Sympathies and wishing you all the best.

Thank you both xxx I have an appointment tomorrow morning, just to be 100% sure all is ok in there. I passed the sac this afternoon though (wasn't expecting it to look like that after only six weeks; sobbed and felt really sick at the thought of the whole thing) but feel like I can move on now. Thank you again Flowers

So sorry to hear of your loss: and it is a loss, and a shock, isn't it? Do go to your appointment, as earlier posters said, it's important to make sure you have passed everything (sorry, it feels very heartless typing that).
I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks 2 years ago, had trip to EPU for same reason. Am sending my sympathies - and look after yourself xxx

Thank you so much. I feel like I've joined a club I didn't ever want to join, if that makes sense? I just never could have imagined what this would feel like, until going through it myself. Warmest wishes to all of you on here xx

I'm sorry blackholes it's a horrible thing to go through. My advice for dealing with EPAU is to go very early if it's a first come, first served arrangement rather than a timed appointment because waiting in a corridor with lots of anxious people is horrible. I hope you are seen quickly and they are nice to you.

Blackholes - sorry to hear you are going through this. Do read the thread on here on practicalities of MC, it has helped me a lot.
And you can get signed off work for a couple of weeks - you need time to recover physically afterwards, chocolate and the sofa were my friends for a good 4-5 days just before Christmas.
Hope you are seen quickly tomorrow and that everything has been passed (meant in the best of intentions so that you can get on with recovering)
