Taking clomid after miscarriage

We have been ttc for over 18mths I have been on clomid for 7 mths now 100mg so when we found out last week we wre preganat we we very happy , sadly I miscarriage we are very sad but so desperate to try again when do I start taking the clomid again please help !!!!

Hi Ellisboy. I'm really sorry for your loss. I've just lost a pregnancy that took us 12m TTC, it just adds another kick in the guts when it's been hard to get that far. I've not used clomid but a quick google suggests that you wait until you've had a period after the miscarriage and then start the Clomid again. The first cycle (from miscarriage to first normal period) is often longer than normal and it's difficult to say when you will ovulate or when is day 1. Most doctors advise waiting to TTC until after one period, though this is mainly to make a pregnancy easier to date. If you are wanting to take the Clomid this cycle maybe you could phone your GP and ask?
