hi, i think iv had a mc but im trying to clarify a few things.
i had a bfn on aug11 and then had a period which lasted for 1 week finishing on sat 19th. then had spotting f(dark brown) from 22nd - 26th.
then had bfp bank hol mon and the tues morn. then had bfn the follwing mon stated period(?) the next day. both this period have been totally normal no clots etc/pain.

does the bfn mean iv already had a mc/chemical pregnancy or is it still impending?

the bfp's i got were 1 from a normal 2 lines test and 2 from cbd which said 1-2 weeks.
i just want to know if i am still waiting for the mc ?

You need to get down to your local Early Pregnancy Unit so you can have a scan. Really sorry you're going through this. I just had an ERPC after a miscarriage this week. It's been horrible, but have to say the EPU were brilliant and really sympathetic which definitely helped. Good luck and hope you get a good result soon!

i phoned my doc on mon when i got the bfn and he said i just have to wait an let nature take its course and then to test again a week or so later. ( i coudlnt wait that long so i poas on thrs and it was still bfn)
if he thinks ishould let nature take its course how do i get refered to the epu? ( i had bleeding in my last preg (who is now 4yrs old!) but i was under midwife by then so she referred me)

Sorry you're going through this, unfortunately they can't offer you a scan as prior to 6 weeks nothing would be visible on scan anyway, so it's a little too early. However if the bleeding or pain gets worse then definitely take yourself to GP, and most if all look after yourself Smile

Hi Flojo, sorry you're going through this. My EPU accepts self referrals so I can phone up without the GP getting involved, they are only open mon to fri though. You could check on your hospital's website for info regarding self referral?
I've had three miscarriages, two at 10-12 weeks which were very painful, passing big clots and obvious pregnancy material but the one I had at 6 weeks was more like a normal ,if a bit more heavy, period, some cramping but if I hadn't known I was preg it wouldn't have been that obvious that it was a miscarriage.
With my early miscarriage the EPU still wanted to scan me to check the miscarriage was complete(though I was sure I had miscarried),they booked me in for this when I would have been 7 weeks and they also ran a HCG blood test to confirm.

Sorry for the abbreviation. It's the procedure where they remove what's left. A few years ago I had another mc which was at 6 wks and went to the EPU. They did a scan to check if everything had gone, which it had, so I.just went home to rest. Do they have a number you can call?

well 'period' has finished with no bad cramping(other than usual period niggles) and no heavier than normal. still got bfn this morning so am assuming that the 'period' i had in aug was the ending of a chemical pregnancy (although again no cramping and no heavier than normal).
the bfp i got must have been the tail end of that.
unless you can get bfn before a mc??
will phone midwife center later to see if they can book me in to the epu to check.
