Hi everyone, i came across this and just wanted to seek any help/advice. I'm 23 and am convinced i am/was pregnant. It may sound silly but i feel like my body told me i had conceived straight away. I was getting soo many symptoms like exhausted, headaches, feeling sick really sore boobs, started burping constantly, cold symptoms came on suddenly sneezing. I didn't think it was possible to get things so soon but have read so many reviews online and tons of woman said they knew straight away too. I didn't take a preg test as thought it may be too soon as if i am then would only be like 2 1/2 weeks since conception. BUT, yesterday i went to the toilet and there was a light pinky blood there, it then got a bit heavier and went dark brown. Now i am still bleeding dark red with some stringy blood and lots of clots. I also had quite bad cramping and a couple of shooting pains ( i never get cramping with periods)I don't have regular periods anyway but if i did i wouldn't be due on for another 2 weeks, i believe if i did conceive then it happened just after i came off my last period when i would have been ovulating. I know something is going on because you know your own body and something just isn't right. Could i have mayb conceived but had complications with implantation? Surely this couldn't be a period 2 weeks early especially after all the symptoms i had. Please help i just don't know what to do?

Yes, it's possible it's a failed implantation, sometimes known as a chemical pregnancy. There really isn't anything you can or should do, just wait it out and see your GP if the bleeding is particularly heavy or painful. Your next cycle may be a bit longer than normal. This happens with something like 1 in 3 fertilisations so it's nothing to worry about although obviously it isn't pleasant.

I hope that helps.

Hello yes that has really helped thankyou so much for your reply i really appreciate it :) I'm glad to hear this wasn't just in my head and was going crazy. Could i ask how long should the bleeding last for? And if i was to go to the doctors would there be any way they could do a hormone blood test to see if there was a pregnancy or is that not really possible if i would have already passed everything out?

I had an early mc last week, and I've just stopped bleeding now. It was a lot like a period with occasional sharp pains. I had to go into hospital as my BP was very low, but was discharged after a night and I feel fine now.
Are you trying to conceive? I only ask as I was for a very long time with DC2, and I used to "know" I was pregnant all the time... Sore boobs, very tired, very hungry. I was never pregnant these times, only I was having the symptoms because I wanted it so badly. Only when I gave up did I become pregnant, and I didn't have a single symptom!
I hope you're feeling okay. Thinking of you.

Aaaww thankyou x, and i'm so sorry to hear about your mc :-( Hope u are ok and have people around u to help x
Really!! I guess that goes to show what the mind can achieve hey, see that's what i had been thinking aswell, could it have been in my head because me and my partner decided we wanted to try for a baby ( had only just started trying though ) so mayb it could have all been in my head. I just put it to the back of my mind after and forgot about it, but it was when the bleeding started that's made me think i could of been after all because why wud i physically bleed, be light pink and brown, and lots of clots, and have cramps which is nothing like i would get for a normal period. I'm just so confused and wish could know what's going on :(

They could do a blood test and see if you have any HCG in your blood but they may decline to do so as there isn't any medical benefit, it would just be curiosity's sake, if you see what I mean (I don't mean to be harsh). I'd say just try to move on, it is totally normal and if you are trying for a baby you'll find so many things to worry about, it's best to focus on the one's you can do something about otherwise it's possible to get quite stressed and upset for no benefit.

Yeah i see what you are saying that's true. It's just frustrating not knowing, but guess i just have to get on with it and keep trying :) Thanks for the help
