Hi
I found out I was pregnant last week, after my husband and I've been trying for 7 months. We already have a 22months old daughter.

I think I'm currently 5wks and 3 days

I started to have a brown discharges on sunday evening and i didnt think too much of it as I thought it was old blood so not too alarming.

But the next morning I started to bleed although not too much, like light period but more when I pee...with cramp now and again throughout the day

Called my gp, couldnt get appointment but spoke to him on the phone and he arranged to get early scan at the hospital.

He got back and told me that the hospital wont take people under 7wks for a scan. Advised me to wait till I stop bleeding, wait for 5 days and then do a pregnancy test.

If positive they'll arrange a scan for me.

If negative I guess I've miscarried...
and I'm just thinking, maybe I am miscarrying the baby right now and gets upset...

Bleeding isnt too bad today and not much of stomach cramp

I thought if you're miscarrying you loose lots of blood...with unbearable stomach pain??

I know nobody can tell me whats happening with my body right now but wanted to hear how people miscarried at early pregnancy...

Thanks

So sorry to hear that this is happening to you. Unfortunately if they scanned you at the moment they wouldn?t really see anything to tell you what?s going on as most drs/epu?s only scan from 6/7 weeks onwards as they should be able to see sac and poss heartbeat at this stage.

I mc 2.5 weeks ago at 6.5 weeks, I had some spotting on the Friday and got in touch with the docs. As I was only 5 and half weeks they said they couldn?t do a scan but would monitor my hcg levels with blood tests. The following weds I started bleeding on and off throughout the day and then I miscarried on the Thurs at 6 and half weeks. I had a very heavy flow on the Thursday and severe cramps as well and this is when I mc.

I think the best thing you can do is rest as much as possible and try to relax (easier said than done I know!). Some people do experience bleeding and small cramps and continue to have healthy pregnancies.

V x

For me at 7/8 wks mc was very obvious, I had abit of spotting the thur which I didn't worry about as brown and only abit not really anything else til the Sunday but then a woosh and massive blood loss however this time alot early about what you are it's been af type bleeding but for longer so I guess there's no set thing, sorry your going through it and as pointed out it may not be a mc, fx for you, I found my tests went lighter straight away if you wanted to try early rather then wait for results x

thanks for your replies.

i'm just scared to go to the toilet tbh...
my cramp has eased off now but a wee bit of bleeding now and again, esp when i pee...

maybe i should do a test to see where i'm at...altho i'm scared to do it incase its not what i like to see... ;(

sorry to hear you're going through this aichi, it is a worrying time.
When I had my early miscarriage in June I started spotting at 6 weeks, the EPU booked me for a scan a week later when I would have been 7 weeks but within a few days I had progressed to heavy bleeding, worse than normal AF and very definite cramps so I knew. By the time I was scanned it was all over and the MC was complete.
As kittykats has said not every MC is the same, I'm on my third at the moment and they all have been different.
Having said that when I was preg with DD2(8 yrs ago!) I had some spotting at 9 weeks and again at 15.5 weeks and went on to have my beautiful little girl with no further problems.
The not knowing is difficult, you want to find out and be reassured so you can relax or start to come to terms with things if you need to.
Hope it all works out for you.

Hi Irish, how are you getting on. I've been thinking of you this last week, has anything progressed naturally yet? Have you had any more thoughts about TTC again? Ignore me if you'd rather not say or pm me of you'd rather it be abit more private, it's a horrible time Sad
My bleeding seems to be heavier after it initially slowed and they couldn't see anything last thur, I hope it doesn't keep going as getting really tired of it now, 3 wks and a horrible reminder everytime I have to go to the loo

Irishmammybread · 22/08/2012 15:30

hi kittykats, have pm ed you!

Just to let you know that I did a pregnancy test again and it came back negative...So that cramp like a period pain and bleeding was a miscarriage on monday...AND I went for a job interview on that day! I feel so stupid...

Pretty upset about it.
A week after finding out I was pregnant I miscarried...

Never thought it would happen to a healthy person like me...

Hi aichi
I'm really sorry Sad
I know what you mean, first time I was pg I was so scared something would happen as id taken along time to concieve but it didn't , when I got pregnant again without even trying I thought my body was just primed for a baby, ready to go and really thought it would be plain sailing only to mc without warning!
It's a real shock to the system!
There is nothing you could do differently just take care of yourself and when you feel ready try again, sorry for your loss

Thanks for your kind words Kittykats.

Its actually telling people what happened is hard... I know i should've waited til 12 wks but I was so happy to get pregnant again so I told 3 of my close friends (who all knew I was trying)

We've got our flat on the market just now so I think its slightly stressful time for us. Maybe we should try when we've settled in a new place...hopefully soon...
