Hcg still elevated 6 wks after d&c- anyone else?

Ok so here it goes- I had a d and c 6 wks 5 days ago after a mmc at 11 wks, and after realising that I was still getting positive preg tests I phoned the early preg unit. They did my hcg levels last thurs and they were 106, and on sat they were 94. Falling so not a new pregnancy. I've had no bleeding or cramping so I don't think they were worried about retained tissue, although on a scan they did see a little 'blob', which they said might just have been a clot or start of a period? But no af has appeared.

Has anyone else had hcg take ages to fall back? Would love just to get af so I can start ttc again!

Hello, I have had a very similar situation and it is so frustrating! I had a d and c on the 12th April and still have hcg in my blood. Mine seems to be halving each week. Think mine is down to about 10 now but have a blood test this eve. Mine was due to retained tissue after incomplete d and c. There was a minuscule amount left, but enough to be still producing lots of hcg (think my first blood test 2 to 3 weeks after op was around 600). I also had no bleeding after first week post op so nothing to suggest retained tissue just positive pg tests. Then had weekly blood draws at Epu to check dropping. Was also given v strong anti biotics and also misoprostol several times
(used in med management) and this helped speed it up.
I am convinced I ovulated approx 10 days ago with hcg at 30 so I am expecting AF this week. This means your cycle can fire up again once the levels drop relatively low.

Thanks for replying, I haven't been offered any drugs to speed things up yet, but have to go for bloods again on thurs so we'll see then maybe. The uncertainty of it all is so frustrating!hopefully you get a visit from af this week then!

Hi again, jemima (or anyone else who has experienced similar situation) did you consider or were you offered provera to kick start a period again? Have my weekly blood test tomorrow and have been spotting on off since fri, would love to get af and flush everything out to draw a line under this whole thing!

Had my bloods today, hcg falling but still there. So turns out I may have got preg in the last 7 wks since the d and c but not realised and then miscarried again very quickly, and that's why I still have hcg and spotting. Or its leftover tissue, no way of knowing for sure. Def now not going to ttc again til after next proper af, whenever that might be. Such a shit situation! Feels like I've been having this miscarriage for months now!
