Will it get worse?

I was 7+3 last week when I properly started bleeding after a few days of brown spotting. I had a scan last Friday which showed the very early days of pregnancy - sac but nothing else - so although I am sure of my dates they have said they can't confirm either way yet... Even though hcg levels show only small rise.

I am sure I've miscarried because by the point I had the scan by my dates there should have been a heartbeat and I've bled loads. Anyway, getting to the point of my question, I have bled for 6 days now with thick dark red blood (about normal period amount) with possibly clots coming out when on loo (tmi sorry). I've read about others having kind of contractions to get rid of everything and very very heavy bleeding but will I get this if my miscarriage was early or will I just continue as I am with just slight period pains?

Sorry for long question, just didn't know what to expect and am at work tomorrow

Thanks x

At seven weeks, probably not. Mine were achy, like bad periods with flu-like lassitude alongside (not flu symptoms, but that feeling of being wiped out). It didn't get worse for me. Take care of yourself, though. I rested, which may well be why I didn't feel too physically awful.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping the answer would be. I can't wait for this all to be completely over, it's hard to think about much else when I'm reminded every time I go to the loo.

Don't forget to get checked out when you think it's all over just make sure the miscarriage really is complete. It's helpful for drawing a line under the whole shitty business. Sad

Hi Moggin, I'm in the same situation as you, having had the scan on Monday at 7+3. My bleeding has been similar to what you describe, my cramping like a bad period and I was also wondering whether the worst was still to come. I have another scan booked Friday and am just hoping that will show the sac no longer there. I just wanted to say that I know how frustrating it is, when you know you have miscarried but no one can confirm it to you, I begged to get the scan on Friday because otherwise would have to wait until next Wed due to holiday weekend. Good luck. x

Hi Rose, sorry to hear about your miscarriage too. How did your scan go? I had mine today too and they confirmed the sac had gone, hopefully my bleeding will start to slow now. Hope you're ok, it's weird how much it affects you at such an early stage of pregnancy isn't it? X
